Female Champion Body Inconsistencies (aka. "Why her boobs so small")
Yes, yes, it's about boobs. But hear me out.
As a writer of original works and sometimes fanfictions as well, I always try to stick to the lore and established canon. This means not only things like "in which part of Noxus can you officially buy the best tacos" but also the physical appearance of every champion or minor character. With the recent cinematics, splash arts and artworks (all of them are wonderful), I have noticed that while male characters like Ekko, Blitzcrank, Lucian or Nasus are almost exactly the same in the cinematics as they are in their splashart, champions like Sona and Miss Fortune have been changed quite a bit, including their outfit, hair - and yes, cup size. I'm not writing all this because I'm a horny boi mad about my waifu's chest being nerfed, but because it is very hard to write character interaction when you don't exactly know how tall or busty someone is. Details matter.
Let's look at Sona first. In her classic splash art as well as in a few others (Muse, maybe Pentakill), her chest is quite big. In the others, especially in the more recent ones, her chest is quite a bit smaller. Now you could argue that like with MF, Riot decided that their original chest sizes are unrealistic and very bothersome in the fights these characters would be in (as can be seen in the Ryze cinematic). And I would agree. However, some older skins also show Sona with a smaller chest, only to increase the size again in the artwork from back when Jhin was released.. That one is quite detailed and the other artworks for Jhin's release for Garen, Zed and Vi - done by the very same artist - are very accurate. In the Ryze cinematic however, she is again shown with not only a different dress design (and VAST amounts of cleavage, so this was INTENDED), but with a much smaller chest. The Odyssey and DJ skins have her wearing a skin tight suit, showing she is quite curvy. In the cinematic this is much less present. This means they don't just decrease her chest size to be more practical or change her body to be more realistic (her dress is clearly designed to show off her body, no woman in her situation would walk/float into a combat situation dressed like that), they just don't communicate very well. The people who designed cinematic Sona and those who made splash art Sona have very different views of how curvy/busty she should be.
Miss Fortune has less inconsistencies in her splash arts. Almost all of them show her with a quite sizeable chest, except for her Captain skin. And this is important, i think: Her other splash arts show her playful in sexy poses. The Captain one shows the more serious, it's-just-good-business-MF, as well as her cinematic portrayals. In the cinematics, she is in combat situations where a big chest would only hinder her. The 3D modelling team seems to be much more hesitant when it comes to the curviness of female champions. Again, I only noticed this with the female champions, the males are almost always portrayed exactly like in their splash arts, with minor changes maybe.
This rustles my jimmies. Immensely.
In the end I don't really care if Sona has an E cup or a C cup, but please be consistent, Riot. You're doing a great job with the lore and I love to imagine which scenarios/battles/conversations might happen with the different champions, but it's hard to write something lorefriendly when the lore is so unclear sometimes.
"But why is the chest size so important? ARE YOU WRITING SMUTTY STUFF?!" Maybe I am, angry_feminist99. Maybe I am. But even with smutty stuff, consistency is important.
