Maybe its because his race whatever it is is immortal or as the lore like to put it, lives really really really long?

His lamp is possessed by a darkin. Since he still retains his personality, I assume his situation is like that of Blue Kayn. His soul battled the Darkin, he won and now he is master over the Darkin and draws power from him. Even if that was not the case, it could easily be explained by him not being human. He has six blue glowing "eyes", purple skin, three fingers per hand and three toes per foot. What's also interesting is this "badge" he wears on his right shoulder. It resembles his "face" and might be a symbol of his people. I don't see why else he would wear a badge with his face (?), since he doesn't seem to fight for "fame" or "glory", he isn't Draven. He is smug about his skills but he doesn't brag or seek attention. Perhaps he is originally from a remote place, far away from all civilization, maybe he is originally from a distant planet or a different dimension and came to this world to find a worthy opponent, a true challenge. It would explain his superhuman skills and abilites (he killed a Darkin), his appearance, him being a mercenary for hire rather than a soldier fighting for a faction for the faction's sake, him being in Icathia and fighting against the Void (because he sees the Void as the most powerful faction and the closest thing to a challenge for him, or maybe the Void has visited his planet too and genocided his people and now he seeks revenge) and why so little is known about him and his origins. I think if Jax turned out to have been a human at some point, it would ruin the character a little bit and take away the mysteriousness that makes him so interesting as a character. He would be demystified.
