The Vast Majority Don't Like The SG Skins, But Riot Says "Who Cares!"

The vocal majority have spoken. Almost everyone that is a die hard fan of the skin series, doesn't like this round of Star Guardians. The reason why no one likes the skins can be a lot of things but the almost everyone doesn't like:

1 - The skins don't look like Star Guardians at all and look more like Dark Star. 2 - The skins are too dark and a lot of the elements of the skin are too dark looking. 3 - The selection of Star Guardians this year when everyone realize it is literally all new champions. No Star Guardian Taric, Sona, Taliyah or anything. It's all new champions that are constantly being given new skins and reworks. 4 - The choice to not ad an actual toggable option to Rakan and Xeyah is a major bummer since almost everyone prefers their original forms over the horrible corrupted ones. Riot refuses to to add the option in any capacity since it "interferes" with the voice lines. This is an instance where they know something is better than something else but they are too stubborn to make the change and add the option in.

As someone who ADORES the skin line and is a major Sailor Moon fan (I've watched all the episodes and even the Japanese ones), this skin series is a MAJOR let down this time around. Riot continues to ignore the obvious choices for a SG and make it literally only about specific groups of champions, but they don't even do a good job with the ones they release. What I would rather prefer:

1 - The ability to toggle Rakan and Xeyah as their original SG forms and not these ugly forms I can care less about. Fine, you made a story and you are sticking to your guns with it. The decision to not add the ability to toggle what form I want to play, makes me not want to buy the skins entirely. I don't like the fact they are Star Guardians, but I would happily spend money on good work if I enjoyed it. I REALLY love Xeyah and Rakan's original forms. I can do without these horrible dark forms that looks horrendous and clash color wise. The chromas don't even make them better.

2 - Removing the Zoe skin entirely and giving us a Legendary SG Syndra skin with more VO and better effects. I was expecting Syndra to get Zoe's spot and have you guys really go all out with her. Yet again, I see a group of Developers who want to prioritize all of their efforts on new and popular champions. I cannot stand Zoe as a champion and I think SG Zoe is the most ugliest skin you have ever created.

I don't care what people say. The above champions would have been a far better pick for a SG than the prioritized skins for new champions. Also, I was whole heartedly expecting Taliyah Taric Sona to be a SG but you gave it all to new champions. It's a major let down. I love the the Neeko skin and I would pay money for the pass and the skin, but I'm not going to because it's supporting a bunch of greedy Developers that have proven time and time again that they HATE their older champions. You Developers refuse to do mini VGU for their older champions and now you've proven you don't want to do skins for them either . . . . at least make them part of the popular skin lines players want. I'm not supporting your terrible work ethic anymore. I'm really disappointed and you clearly DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR OLDER CHAMPIONS AT ALL. Stop lying to us you hypocrites.

FTFY Some people are upset, some people actually like the skins. The boards are never really a good place to gauge community opinions because of how bandwagony it is.

Jesus christ, what are we, 5 year olds that throw a tantrum over something we dont like? You lost all attention you could have gotten from Riot right there

Then explain the Udyr, Nunu, Aniva, Nocturne, Galio, Veigar, Varus, Shen, Shaco, Karma, Ivern, and Rammus skins, and other skins that we were promised to get this year at the start of the season.

Also, they aren't re-doing the skins. They aren't scrapping any of the skins and replacing them. Its too late for that. Stop suggesting that they should and being mad that they aren't, cause its not fucking happening no matter how much you cry about it.

First, it’s not majority and second, they’re only complaining because it’s cool to hate on new directions riot is going for. No man, it would be much better it we got 15 star guardians looking the same, fun heh.

My man save your effort and breath, they're not even trying to hide it at this point. We all knew that they will clear the skins out in form of chromas and low and behold none of the chromas are remotely as dark as the skins themselves.

Now, I’d definitely say that this skin release is a bit more controversial than most other skins, but I wouldn’t say the majority dislikes them. When looking at the respective subreddits, most people like them with the main complaint only being them asking for a non-corrupt version.

I personally enjoy the theme of these skins but that could just be because the dark star line is my favorite one.
