Calling Out The Aspects

Atreus felt a cold rage at both the Darkin and the Aspects. They were no different. They were the problem.

Finally, someone's figured it out. Maybe, just maybe, the mountain overlords that enslave star dragons and put ridiculously dangerous people in eternal torture prisons for future exploitation instead of killing them shouldn't be trusted.

Yeah, it's nice that they want to stop the Void, but people are tools to the Aspects just as they were tools to the Darkin. More literally in the Aspects' case, considering what they did to the surviving Darkin.

Anyway, I for one wholeheartedly support Atreus' skepticism.

Agreed! Its kinda like Kayle/Morg where Morg is now the good side. They also made the Panth lore soooooo much more interesting and Aatrox is even more of a fuckin badass now.

Damn straight. Atreus got the right idea. All hail Atreus, the slayer of gods. I am more than pleased with Pantheon's new lore. They made him the fucking alpha we always knew him to be.

inb4 Aspect bootlickers say "it's better to be enslaved than do be consumed by the void"

Saying they are the same is kind of wrong though.

Yes the aspects sometimes use humans as tools(this doesn't go for all though, Tarics aspect of the protector never imposed his will on Taric, as Taric was already perfect for him), but they do it for the greater good. The darkins on the other hand subdued the humans because they thought they were superior and deserve to rule over the weak.

So while some of the aspects do some pretty horrible things they at least do them for good reasons, unlike the darkin, who comitted countless atrocities for their own gain.

I agree, I only hope Taric gets a pass since he's a special case.

Its not new Aatrox wants to kill Aspects ASol wants to kill Aspects Some Aspects are trying to kill each other Some Aspects are split in 2 parts that tried to kill each other Runeterra is split into 2 parts: those who don't know about Aspects, and those who hate at least 1 of them.

And everyone hates Pantheon, even if the actual bad guy is dead and Atreus just receives that hate by mistake.

He reminds of Kratos with his skepticism of Gods, no matter that, well, pantheon...

The new lore corrects the singular major problem of the old lore immediately, unlike the old lore, it is made clear this time that the actions of Pantheon possessing Atreus' body was not the norm and of malevolent intent. An Aspect isn't supposed to choose someone it deems unworthy. The Aspect's reasoning behind doing so is also explained this time around, it seeking out the Darkin, Targon's unfinished business. Characterization.

Nothing of the old lore pointed toward the fact that what Pantheon had done to Atreus was unusual or malicious. The community's hate for the Aspect is derived purely because a disgruntled hate for the lore retcon, which was unnecessarily pinned on the Aspect, simply because it's lack of characterization which made it an easy target. As far as we knew, it was simply the nature of the Aspect.

This is the lore we were supposed to be given from the beginning, but we weren't able to get until now. However, that does not make the fanbase 'right' for the hate thrown toward the Targonians. Just as Atreus was done ill by an Aspect, there will be others that show a different relationship between god and man.

Atreus: I've come to make an announcement. Pantheon, the Aspect of War is a b$%&# a%& m$#%#&$#%&$#!

See the problem is these people have known nothing but worshipping the aspects ever since they were born. That religion of worshipping the stars are all they're every known, so they wouldn't question it untill someone goes through something like what Atreus did.
