So, a question: We have new Ryze's lore, but there's still something you haven't told us.

What are the tendrils holding him back in his splash? They pierce through his runes in places, and he burns them off by igniting them. But what are they? A metaphor for greed and whatnot that want the world runes? The world runes themselves trying to corrupt him? What are they?
