An In-Progress Kassadin Lore

Goal: Reconstitute Kassadin’s and Malzahar’s relationship. I'm going to borrow from the late Journal of Justice a moment between Malzahar and Kassadin, which I think would really strengthen their relationship. It's a work in progress, this. But I'd like suggestions as for what Kassadin needs to keep to remain who he is in your eyes, if you're a Kassadin guy. I haven't played him all too much, but I'm taking a crack at his lore.

[To be filled] . . .

Like a number of nomads, Kassadin was dissatisfied with his people’s vagabond existence, and sought to recover and inherit the lost knowledge and treasures of old Shurima. He pursued artifacts of any nature: antique relics, crumbling parchments of antiquated trade maps that refer to unheard-of cities, trade ledgers from the empire’s zenith, faded drawings of since-obliterated landmarks, and summery talismans that were carried by Shurima’s most pious caste. Whether he bartered, found, or ashamedly stole them, Kassadin’s accumulated artifacts grew.

All the while, Kassadin’s daughter traveled with him, delving together into various tombs and sealed repositories, in spite of the appropriate dangers.

. . .

In the course of time, Kassadin found a peculiar artifact. It was remarkably dissimilar to those he was familiar with.
