Varus' sister, as far as we know, is as much of a sister to Varus as she is to any other Darkin! :)

I know it's stupid but I constantly see "Varus' sister" and it just rubs me the wrong way. Darkin usually call each-other brothers and sisters respectively due to the bond they share in immortality and being sun born etc.

But yeah, I know it means nothing but I just needed to make a post about this lol

Edit: Me saying "Varus' sister," in the title is deliberate ;) hehe

While, yes, Darkin call themselves brother and sister figurative, Varus' sister is to 95% his blood related one.

Valeeva watched Ta’anari with the same haughty disdain that her brother always did—the one member of their sundered fellowship he was relieved had not attended.

If the term brother would be figurative here, you could not know which Darkin it was refering to. However, if they blood-related, you know which Darkin he means ( in that case, Varus).

Bonus point: In the Varus' russian color story he uses a really close word for sister, which let me assume she is blood-related one. The Twilight of God only seems to hint even more.

Well that is certainly possible, though the new story does feature a darkin named valeeva, who is noted to have a brother(and since it says that this is her brother and not the brother of everyone else I doubt that its just a metaphor) and the 2 were described as incredibly vengeful(so this sounds a lot like Varus).
