Summoners Rift and Runeterra

(sorry for my bad English) With the retcon a few months ago and the update of SR recently I wonder how the map and the world are connected. Narrative made it pretty clear that the Lore and the Game are unrelated, except for Champions. But wouldnt it be great when the when the new map still had some connections to Runeterra? I dont mean that the fights ingame should make sense. I rather thought of connections like these things:

• Who are the shopkeepers? Have they any meaning lorewise?
• Are the 2 sides somehow connected to lore?
• Is the landscape of SR similar to a place in Runeterra?
• Do the neutral monsters exist somewhere? Whats up with Baron Nashor?
