Grammatical Error in Shadow and Fortune
Today it tasted of scorched meat and woodsmoke, a flavor with which Miss Fortune was coming to associate **with ** ever more **of **Gangplank’s men dying.
All three of these are incorrect, and frankly confusing. It should read:
Today it tasted of scorched meat and woodsmoke, a flavor
withwhich Miss Fortune was coming to associatewithever more with Gangplank’s men dying.
You would say "with which" is Miss Fortune associated with the smell herself (which she doesn't). It sounds like it's trying to say she associates the smell with Gangplank's men, and it is both grammatically incorrect and redundant if that is the case. Of course, if I'm mistaken myself, please let me know!
