Remember back when League of Legends was a game and not a sport?

I realized when listening to older music that, back when League of Legends still tried to be a fantasy video game rather than a sport, it had this sense of wonder and excitement. Games were often hour-long undertakings you prepared for and then set out to do - they werent lunch break sized matches that could compete with HOTS (Heroes of the storm) for casual gaming.

Now dont get me wrong - the modern draft pick music is great. But it doesn't get you excited like the older music did. It doesn't encourage you to try your hardest and get you hyped up before the big battle.

You know things got messed up when i'm thinking back on Season 5 with nostalgia. Back then it was considered the worst season in League's history, what with the surface of the juggernaut patch, Tank Ekko and Season 6's subsequent Lethality meta.

The idiot that created the casual atmosphere for WOW is the now the idiot doing the same here. I imagine I will be boycotting RIOT games as I do Blizzard in the near future if this course continues. This game is free to play so maybe it will take longer. It's just too bad there are so many gamers out there that are nothing but cash cows that the idiot hopes to milk. They bring many dollars to the developer and nothing but heartache to true gamers because their brains can't handle anything but a casual atmosphere.
