We have a few playful/light themed mages but they're all females:

The thing is I don't think the new mage is going to be human, so it probably won't fulfil the fantasy to the fullest extent, but I can still hope

In the Brazilian champion roadmap, the new champ was referred to as a "maga", which is the feminine form of mage. So, it's highly likely to be a female.

Umm there are like over 60 male champs to choose from and only 35 female ones. How about NO. AND the last champ released was a dude.

Why does everyone want the new mage to be male, I don't understand. It's not like everyone's favorite character is someone with whom they can perfectly identify. And i would like to remind everyone who wants a new male mage, that this character is probably going to conform to a very specific stereotype, a very flowery/delicate type, and I doubt there are that many guys who would identify with that. I mean if people want more male mages, they should just speak out, if an opinion is popular Riot will, at least, take it into consideration when creating new champions in the future.

Rakan is a pretty lighthearted and colorful support, and the only reason he's not a full mage-type is because he can only shield others with his E, not himself. Not to mention Taric , the most fabulous male support of all, even though he's closer to a tank than a mage.
