Hello Ladies and Gents, I'm horrible with introductions so lets just be quick about this. This thread is about Soraka's lore and the inconsistency behind it.

Part 1: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/FwHRGkqZ-sorakas-lore-and-the-inconsistency-within-part-13 Part 3: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/story-art/juqATHHJ-sorakas-lore-and-the-inconsistency-within-part-33

In this thread, I will be talking about Soraka and the "special powers" the grove had. So without further Ado:

Just going to tell everyone straight up. This grove, for the most part as far as I can tell, is just simply a grove. I will explain how I came to this conclusion.

Lets start off by looking at what kind of effect it had over Soraka. As far as I can tell, this grove held no power over her. Some people make the mistake that Soraka lost most of her powers and/or her immorality by leaving the grove. This is not true, she lost both of those when she used her abilities to harm another. There is a possibility, though, that her healing powers could have been enhanced while in the grove but there isn't anything within her lore to prove this. To be fair, there doesn't seem to be anything to disprove it either.

Then could it be possible that the grove acted as a beacon of sorts? Acting as a way to help communicate with the stars. This is not so because when Soraka was trying to save Warwick, the stars were pleading with her, screaming even, while she was outside of the grove. As far as I can tell, the grove acted like a gilded cage with the door wide open at all times. The only reason that I can figure that Soraka stayed in that grove was because the Cosmos told her to do so.

So let's look at the defenses that protected Soraka from foreign threats. This "enchanted" grove, from my understanding, does not seem to have any magical runes protecting it, no ancient guardians, no dangerous predators lurking around. Not even a mist to keep it hidden from others. I can explain this simply because people were able to reach her but not just any people. Sick and wounded people were coming for her aid. If there were any dangerous feats, those people would not have been able to reach her. With this information, I believe that her grove had to have been somewhat easy to access.

I can further prove her grove was not well protected with Warwick. He has been to the grove several times to access Soraka. But the first time he made it to the grove, he had to achieve this with a dead body in tow. That would be a very difficult task (if not impossible one) for Warwick if accessing the grove was dangerous. Also, in the lore, Soraka had to leave the grove to chase after Warwick to save him from the staged assault. Given the fact that Soraka is considered a more fragile creature than Warwick, if he had difficulty reaching the grove then Soraka would have had an even greater task leaving and we were not given any indication that she had difficulty leaving.

LIke I said before, this grove holds little to no significance to Soraka's life besides it being her home and I'm confused as to what was so mystical about it.

That's it for part 2. So what are everyone's opinion on this? Does there seem to be an inconsistency or is there some explanation and I never noticed it. Let me know in the comments.

It's just a natural grove. The 'enchantment' comes from the energy of the events that took place there. Such time-bending miracles echo in eternity because bending time is required for the miracles to occur in the first place.

There is no security to the grove because no security is needed. The eyes of the person that looks upon it will be blind to it (the entrance will blend into the scenery as though no entrance was there) if they are not meant to enter. Anyone meant to enter will see a light shining on the entrance. That light comes from a specific alignment of the stars with respect to the perceiving eyes of the expected visitor.

In other words, Warwick (like every other visitor) was fated.
