One Tragic thing about Irelia's new look

My bets are that the trinity force looking thing is her new mantle, and it only turns into the blades, like in the splash, when she ults.

She just transforms it into the blades she now uses.

It might be the sigil of her family, the only thing left from them, it could give what was once an only in-game item more depth and meaning.

Sad thing is there isn't any reason why not to keep it, or at most alter it a bit.

But that's Rito. They'll remake a champ so it's (probably) more viable at the cost of something formerly iconic and loved by fans.

Yeah, I'm going to miss the mantle and I hate her new shoulder armor. I really wish riot would stop screwing up the important things in reworks.

They did a terrible job. They took all her tradition away.

That's a good point. I'll actually miss that - it was a cool aspect to certain Ionian champions (Karma, Syndra, and Yi's Ionia skin). Karma's rework has it so that means it's still part of the lore, potentially.

The new Irelia looks like a teen carton girl and her outfit is just urgh. I like the old traditional look and she also looks pretty grown up there. I have enough of the teen-looking women.
