[QOTD] What kind of Champion Theme do you want to see in the future?

##[Question Of The Day] - What kind of Champion Theme do you want to see in the future?

I myself personally would want to see the following Champion Themes...

##Champion Theme #1 - A Black Merchant

Essentially a Champion who would have no access to the shop at the base but instead he has his own unique items from a separate store item 3637 that allies can't access.

  • For Clarity: The way this store would be accessed is by clicking on a small arrow button at the top of the inventory or by pressing the default store button (P).

To make this theme concept even more interesting, you could even give him a unique kind of income instead of the default gold for thematic purposes. Something like..

  • Hextokens/Hexcoin | Chemtoken/Chemcoin

To make it even more unique, this champion could even not have abilities since the items/gadgets themselves could act as his abilities. So this essentially creates a diverse choice in playstyle, and exploration to multiple synergies.

##Champion Theme #2 - A new Mage Support with an entirely different playstyle + new unique Mechanic

Essentially I started going about the idea of how often abilities are usually missed which go to waste and what if once the ability is missed that ability remains in the location as an echo (doesn't damage anyone walking through it) but after some time, this new Mage could re-cast that exact ability in the same direction. The damage would be based on ability rank, the items, level of the original caster and stats of the caster when the ability was fired, so not less not more just the exact same amount.

I imagine in order for something this complex to work, this ability to recreate ability echos item 3643 would need to remain as a global effect so that no matter where you go you can always use something but to actually cast it you need to be near the echo itself of course.

To avoid this concept from sounding overpowered..

  • This Mage wouldn't be able to re-cast the exact same Ability more than once in the exact same time. Thus why it would have a Cooldown which would likely scale down based on the Mages Level.
  • This Mage wouldn't be able to re-cast Ultimate Abilities, or at least make it so that it's only possible at the very later stages of the game.

##Champion Theme #3 - A complete outsider of Runeterra

Essentially an Alien based Champion or just a regular outsider that isn't from the world of Runeterra item 3694.

##Champion Theme #4 - The Unknown

Is it a living thing? Is it an it? What is its purpose?

##Champion Theme #5 - An Inquisitor from another world

Always wanted to see an evil Inquisitor kind of Character item 3690.

##Champion Theme #6 - A Disease bringer

I always wanted there to be a character who's all about creating Chaos and inflicting agony through various..

item 3165

  • Diseases
  • Contagions
  • Blights

It is why my name is the BLIGHTBRINGER, because I like to pretend that a Champion like Varus fits this theme because of his W and R in-game sharing a theme similarly to this.

##Champion Theme #7 - A Cosmic Trickster (Power levels of Aurelion Sol)

Wouldn't be so focused item 3694 on the offensive side of things like killing, like Shaco or Zoe, but literally just to annoy and trick enemies by preventing them from killing you or to prevent what they intend.

##Champion Theme #8 - A Shapeshifter

A Shapeshifter item 3001 item 3194 item 3151 item 3800 who's some human parts change into deadly predatory animal features.

I want to see an ivern but for minions. The ult could be one of two things - taking control of any enemy minions in the area or a banner of command-like ult. The passive could be like "prepare an area, when a minion steps into this area, its ascended and gives you gold and exp.

I also want to see "Doran" as a champion, when the game starts doran gets an item, depending on the item his kit changes. Grab a shield? Get a defensive kit, tanky. Get a ring? Become a burst mage. Etc (they could also add a "doran" support item just for him, jungle, and adc item.

You've got some interesting concepts there. The blackmerchant seems honestly like something that will be eventually in the game to some extend. It's not even a question of "will we ever get this", but more a question of "when do we get this?". I mean such a champ would fit perfectly into Zaun or Piltover and a black merchant surely gives a unique vibe, that isn't present in any of the current champs, so its a logical choice for a theme. Though I don't think that the "items instead of abilities" would work very well.

The Echo mage seems very unlikely, because keeping all the abilities on the whole map as echoes would easily clutter the map and likely lead to performance issues. In general I'm pretty sure that Sylas is going to be our only example of "mage who uses other peoples ability", because that is part of what makes him unique.

The outsider could easily be someone from targon. I've seen that some of Zoes earlier concepts actually had her as a more imp-like being, which might mean that she was originally supposed to be an alien aspect. Though even if she isn't one, it wouldn't be unusual to eventually get an aspect from space who is actually from a different planet.

And I'm not sure if the unknown gets already represented by Bard and maybe Fiddlesticks after his rework.

What confuses me about your 5th suggestion is that it is an inquisitor from another world. I mean Demacia could easily give us an inquisitor-like champ, but why would the inquisitor need to be from another world?

The Diseasebringer also seems like a concept that'll be eventually in the game. A darkin based around this would be really fitting, simply because the darkins are known to use blood magic and that would honestly make it pretty easy to infect people with diseases.

The cosmic trickster seems very unlikely as Zoes core theme is already that of a cosmic trickster. Granted Zoe is far more focused on offense, but I doubt they'd make 2 champs who are so similar in terms of theme. If its a trickster you want, then I guess your best chance would be waiting for a leblanc rework, because I'm pretty sure that Leblanc will be more focused on illusions if she ever gets one.

The shapeshifter could honestly be Udyr after his rework, as his lore already made it clear that shamans can take on animalistic features by channeling spirits and Udyr is all about channeling spirits to give him different fighting styles.
