How come Demacia is/seems to be more racially diverse than Noxus?

was thinking about this looking at the roster - despite Noxus being a massive imperial state and clearly having a very large domain, and Demacia being a relatively small, isolated area, you wouldn't expect Demacia to be the place with more diverse (champion) representation.

It's even weirder considering Noxus's habit of absorbing cultures it conquers, and the social mobility it allows; regardless of your background anyone with the grit or the know-how can ascend to nobility or higher. By all accounts, we should see at least a little bit of admixture among its champions, but we don't. Just about all of Noxus's champions are Eurasian in appearance, with the exception of Kled, who disguises himself as Noxian, and Sion, who's undead.

Demacia, on the other hand, I would expect to be entirely homogenous, but we have Lucian, which tells me there's some history of black people living in Demacia like anyone else.

It's not really a big deal to me, but since it's relevant to Noxus to be diverse, I'd enjoy seeing at least 1 champion who demonstrates the principle; it could make for interesting visuals, at least.

Its mostly a relict of the old lore, where Noxus were the "bad guys" and thus were pretty much racist as well, while Demacia was quite open to outsiders.

Noxus's champions are pretty white, yes, but that's probably because most of them just happen to be from Noxus Prime and surrounding area.

Technically Demacia was created as a refuge from magic so from a geological standpoint people displaced from all over the world came to be safe from magic.

The area Noxus exists is the birth place of at Least three empires. The people that live under current Noxus had ancestors that were lorded over by Mordekaiser and probably the Ruined King

Also consider Old Lore Noxus called their invasion of the Freljiord "The Barbarian Pacification Campaign".

That... uh... is a bit dehumanizing, innit?

As for the racial conformity of the upper echelon of Noxus in modern lore, one possible explanation is that they CLAIM being all "your strength decides everything" but either don't mention or don't realize those born with a metaphorical headstart can consolidate power easier. Thus holding down those who would be their equals or betters on a more even playing field.

That those who are in the "headstart" possition are always the Eurasian looking ones is a coincidence, of course.

What if race is regarded differently on Runeterra? In a world where they have everything from Yordles to Half-Dragons running about, What if white and black isn't a noteworthy distinction among humans?

I think back to Mass Effect where there were so many different species running around, different variations of Krogan didn't mean much at all. Humans were in the same boat.

With this in mind, I just assume there's a random distribution of humans of different qualities among all nations. Lucian is from Demacia, Pyke is from Bilgewater, Karma is from Ionia, Nidalee is from Kumungu and some yet undiscovered brown people are from Noxus.
