Lore Musings: Ionia Event?

I wanna draw attention to the PBE icons because, from the look of it, we're getting some sort of Ionia event. Perhaps even one similar to the VERY old War of the Three sisters Freljord update.

Let's start by dissecting each icon.

A jade flame with wings emblazoned on the side. You may notice is bears resemblance to Karma:

Karma, among the Ionian group, is probably the one who leans on tradition the most but also understands that change is required. She, if this was an Ionia event, would be the champion headlining traditional values and a group that leans more towards preserving Ionia's old culture while moving forward as best you can.

This icon has a more blue/white tint to it but, most importantly, curved blades circling a center. These blades come from Irelia:

Irelia in this situation is the radical who believes Ionia needs a much greater change than Karma does. While she's not outright hostile, she's extremely serious and sincere in her desire to change Ionia. Among the groups, she'd likely be the most "Call-to-arms" type who wants to drive out any Noxian presence. Only once Ionia is reformed and protected can they turn an eye back to the old ways.

Finally, you have red surrounded by circles with a star in the middle. Ideas point to it being a combination of Zed's shurikens and Syndra's orbs.

Unlike the other two, Zed and Syndra represent those Ionia has "done wrong" to and seek the greatest changes. Not merely dealing with noxus but reforming, isolating and removing all aspects of the old ways. These two would be the vanguards that Ionia was doomed to fall and Noxus was just a catalyst that made it happen faster. Siding with these two would put them at odds with ALL other factions but be the ones who incite the greatest reformation of all of Ionia. Out with the old, in with the new.

The one problem with this theory is this icon. Conventional wisdom doesn't match it with any champion sans possibly Varus. Even then, this could be the icon for perhaps some sort of shadowy inner-council in Ionia referenced in Jhin's lore: A group of people who pull the strings in the background and orchestrate all of Ionia's workings behind closed doors.

Anyways, that's my theory.

You completely forgot to include the names of each icon?

Each of these, together, allude to Mordekaiser's downfall; however, they are specifically tied to the MSI missions coming up during patch 9.9.

The teal one is called "The Faceless" (LeBlanc) The blue one is called "The Council" (Mordekaiser's advisors) The red one is called "The United" (Beginning of the Black Rose) The purple is called "The Warband" (The armies that defeated Morde and became Noxus)

The symbols are a bit confusing though. The faceless is supposed to be LeBlanc, but it looks like a helmet to me.

Whoops, icons are busted from PBE. You can still click them but it looks a bit odd on the page.

Not quite sure because either Reav3 or someone from narrative said that we are getting no Ionia this year..

They probably should have just kept Karmas lore changed if we're gonna have a faction that is like "TRADITION.... but not really" and have them oppose Irelia

The backgrounds of the green and blue icons look eerily like the backgrounds in the Resolve and Sorcery Rune pages. The Red one looks like Hail of Blades. Could be a Runes Reforged update?

These were part of the MSI stuff, even Surrender@20 mentions this.

The green one is Galio's wings. And the orange one is Kayle's sword.

Pretty sure they're rune icons.

In event, Wukong and Ahri fight together and kiss each other.

I think the third one is Zed alone and the forth is Syndra

syndra uses the word "shattered" in her voice line somewhere.. maybe the purple icon makes that connection?
