Map of Runeterra

It just occured to me that Riot, though still on the works on the official map, has put out a piece of the map a long time ago.

That piece, of course, is the Freljord.

So after seeing past and recent major lore events Riot has put out, I'm beginning to wonder why didn't they put out pieces of their map the same way they did with Freljord? It could be a massive jigsaw puzzle for us to put together the entire map of Runeterra. I feel like they could've put out fragments with what region their lore events take place.

We could've had map fragments of:

Bilgewater (Blue Flame Island) Serpent Isles Shurima Shadow Isles Mount Targon

So hopefully they'll give us the entire region drawn out for their next lore event, that way we can see Valoran, though in pieces.

Remember that Valoran is only one of couple of Continents on Runeterra (probably a name for the so called Supercontinent made out of smaller continents like Eurasia-Africa), one such is Ionia which is a continent now rather than an Island.

I think this long over due wait for a completed map is IMO related to the likelihood of Riot having yet to fully flesh out their post-retconed lore. I also have my suspicions that we may never get a concluded map.

However small scale maps focusing on the major cities and small regions would make more sence then a full map. They could be more detailed without having to connect all the major regions in the world with one another. This way would also allow for easy insertion of never before mentioned locations for future lore. Imagine if Riot wanted an El Dorado kingdom set in Kumungu? But couldnt cause they released a full map contradicting this place's existence some time before. We would have yet another out dated map on our hands.

Me, I'm going to stick to the cool art work Riot's been pumping out for their major cities and locations. However i wouldn't say no to a map of any kind.

Lowkey I wonder if the Riot lore department is still a thing. After 6 years you'd think they just give it up.

Demacia, Noxus, Zaun, Piltover, Ionia at least have not been fully updated in the modern format. Before that, and the update on all the current old champion lores (cause some of them may add new geographical places that may not be so easily put into a map if was released early), we might not see a fleshed out map.

By then, we will get a lot of champions that are connected to factions mentioned above, and/or those that flesh out the setting of League as a whole.

What I want to know, is the scale of the map? How big is Demacia, or Mount Targon. I was thinking on writing a fanfiction, but I can't do that very well yet since I don't know the scale of the place.
