Let's face it, there is nothing "Hextech" in this skin, not by today's standards. One can tell just by comparing it to newer instance of the skin serie.

I know, Anivia, Janna and Singed also possess Hextech skins that are similar to Sion's, but they are aging champions that will eventually be updated and their Hextech Skins too, to match today's definition of "Hextech". But Sion already got updated three years ago and his Hextech Skin aesthetic didn't follow up. At best it's a Battlecast/Resistance-ish skin, but certainly not a Hextech.

because hextech can only have 1 visual style? Hextech is supposedly limited by the craftsmans imagination. most craftsmen just happen to live in Piltover, where this style is in fashion.

While it could definitely benefit from an update, I'm not sure I want it to look quite like the other skins. The personality of some of Sion's skin line, specifically Mecha Zero Sion, imply that he was the first and more unstable of an eventually long line of creations. If they were to redo his Hextech skin I would want him to stay kind of fucked up and somewhat flesh based. They could run it as him being a first experiment where they were unsure of how successful artificially intelligent Hextech creations would be, so they used a man who got in some horrible accident. The result was Hextech Sion, a raging reanimated brute kept alive by technology and all of its added bonuses like strength and resilience but none of the controllable parts.

I think they should remake all old hextech skins and place them into the crafting system, and remove all non hextech and sell them for RP. And probably some compensation for people who purchases non hextech skins for gemstones.

I'm about 70% sure it's supposed to be a callback to old sion.

But yeah, it needs to be changed somehow.

True - but being fair here, Hextech Sion is both an ancient skin, and a skin for a champion whose update came before the "unification" of the Hextech line. Hextech Galio sort of matches the new line (it's duller metals than you see in Alistar, Kog, or Annie) and Hextech Anivia will be out of line until her eventual update.

It probably should be renamed though; it's already been updated, and judging from the High Noon Gothic line, I don't think they plan to update individual skins for line unification/stylistic changes, especially where the champion's been visually updated.

I feel like Hecxtech Sion is like a precursor of modern hextech. The dark secret left behind trying to understand how to make hextech work, how science tried to play god and made a monster and thanks to him is that the perfected hextech skins are now what they are

I agree! this could fit in the Battlecast/Resistance Skinline rather than the hextech one.

I even made a brief lore about it.

Sion was the first battlecast experiment of victor but failed, now, alongside the resistance team alongside illaoi and caitlyn, they fight off victors army.
