No offense to the artist which did a superb job, it just that her original face feels very iconic for her. A lot of the new splash arts make it very hard to identify them quickly on the minimap icons. They seem to all have the same, dark, monotone colour scheme and they don't stand out from eachother.

E.G. I could look at minimap quickly at a glance and see a bright Ahri face and tell its her immediately, and I could look slightly to the right and see a face with with a big purple hat and immediately tell that it's Caitlyn. Now I would look at minimap and see two faces with a dark blue/purple colour scheme and have to look carefully to distinguish the two.

The thing that bothers me with the new Ahri splash is that she doesn't look asian anymore. Rito gives Ahri all these kpop references in her dance, and all over popstar ahri. Then they make her new splash look like an alternative-styled westerner. (An American/European that dyed her hair black.) While I do think the new splash looks more crisp and detailed, the old one had a certain attribute to it.

I also don't really see why it was changed either, I actually prefer it... and she actually looks somewhat Asian in the first one, the new one looks closer to a "Westernized" model to be honest.

It's good, it just doesn't seem right for her.

First time logging in to leave a comment... I do not like the new Ahri. Yes, it does look pretty but that is not my point.

Personally, when I think of Ahri, I think about the power of Ahri's "charm" and her asian look Ahri , but I do not see any of it. I wish her next splash art could "charm" us.

Oh and here's another sucky thing

They removed her bell chain, which is actually present on her in-game model AND makes sounds during some of her idle animations and her laugh.

That bell is op. I love it way too much, and now it's just gone. :(

I don't like it at all. It's a good concept but the face bothers me. I love the old Ahri splash, but I just can't seem to like this one no matter what. It just isn't Ahri...She looks fat and very Western. It's just not her.

I think it's mostly her face that's off. She's missing those distinctive slash marks on her cheeks. And her new face is just … not Ahri. She actually looks kind of like Annie.

One thing I enjoyed a lot about A New Dawn is that they somehow made Ahri look especially "foxlike". There was something about her facial structure, especially at certain moments, that seemed just subtly non-human. Something about her mouth/jaw as she breathes.

It really comes down to her face. Her pose and background are okay I guess, but it's her face that really makes the whole thing unattractive. Whoever made the new splash seriously should have sat down and googled K-Pop stars for a good hour before making it. Goo Hara would be a good example, Rito.

While I think that the new art of Ahri is in its own right very beautiful, I do have to say that I also prefer the old one. Knockwurst did an amazing job when he created her original splash art and I really don't see the need to replace his works.

But if they really have to replace it, I would have preferred this one by 6kart a hundred times:

Honestly, the face sculpt, tangled hair, and the dark blues/purples makes this new splash make her look like a hooker. I like my Ahri as a seductive succubus, not a hooker

It's not the Ahri I know and love in the new one. Ahri That's just leona in hooker make up and a cat costume. Leona I ESPECIALLY hate that they took away the eye liner. I like how it looked like a marking in the current one, so fox like. And in this new version she just has no markings at all, not even any claws on her hands. I know she's supposed to be collecting souls to become human, but i was hoping she would change her mind and stay part kitsune :/ And yeah, why isn't she Korean anymore?

They said that they were based off of the in-game models, but Ahri's face was pretty spot-on before with her old splash.

Well, everything in this picture has like the same themed color... It's very monotonous in the color? Also, the eyes look too human. :/ or at least in my opinion. The eye is the window to the soul and especially in picture, it's always certainly true. The old Ahri had pale skin, blue hair in a very green and foresty background. This just about made every part of her stand out. Like her hair, her clothing, the perfectness of the skin, her eye lining, her orb, even the faint whisker slash on her face. But in the new splash art, the colors are all dark and indifferent. Truthfully, the only thing I looked and observed first was the orb because that's where the burst of colour stood out. Perhaps, you can make her pale skin show out more when it's facing the orb, rather than the vice versa. Make her hair a lighter tone, but darkened by the background, but stands out in the orb area. Show the initial Ahri whisker. make the ears stand out more, perhaps in a cute seductive way. Making the area where the orb lighter and the outside darker can drastically make her stand out and make her look way different, well at least in my opinion. Also, her eyes should have like a middle-east or perhaps Egyptian eyeliner instead of a anglo-saxon everyday girl make up eyeliner. It would also be cool if her hair kind of circled around the orb, just the faintest, and make it a very straight-yet purmmed hair and have a little braid at the end of her hair that gathers it all together in a clean Eastern hairstyle that usually is braided in a manner to show a woman that's seductive to men, but doesn't try to be. And perhaps making her nails longer and tilt her head in a way to look as if she's just about to swiftly run and leave, in a leading manner. But I think that this is a good skin, overall. Just needs some more thought and consideration to make it either really perfect or a complete buster of Ahri's image.

Personally, I think they did pretty well. Adjustments can be made of course. And if they do this, unlike how they ditched Cho'gath to look old in game and new in art- they need to toss in the whole package. It made me OCD with Cho, I don't wanna be OCD with Ahri.

Slight changes I would make (assuming I had artistic skill)- 10-, maybe 15-% brighter. Some spots are a little dark and difficult to make out.

Make her lean back, not forward. Her posture makes her look like she is going after someone, but the entire body says she is staying in place with contemplation. You need to pick. Please.

If you have leaves floating towards the camera (looks like they are, but again...its dark and hard to make out) then her hair needs to come this way.

But again, I like it. RIP old Ahri though -_-
