Did Riot not get the memo that mains don't like the entire lore of their champion changed with Varus

A lot of people did not like the Varus lore change, and that includes me since I play Varus, and I'm going to be sad the day his new VO comes out. Now Aatrox gets "reworked" and everything about him except being a Darkin and having a revive is thrown out the window.

I really dislike this Aatrox since he's basically "big, angry gears of war dude" (I acknowledge that is a poor and bias sounding description) from his calm personality that was somewhat inspiring.

"Pain is temporary. Victory is forever!" "Even those who have nothing can give their lives." "Violence is elegance." "Surpass the frailty of your form." "Peace is the greatest lie of all." "Witness truth!" "Nobody understands me! They called my work a hack job." "Fight and be remembered, or die and be forgotten."

Nothing can replace the greatness of these lines. I admit a few lines of 'new Aatrox' are cool, such as his infinite hatred of Zoe, but, otherwise, it's just the death of a character for Aatrox players.

There was a memo, Riot. There was a memo.

Why don't people like Varus's new lore?

I personally like it really much and the video was really cool and touching

You're too late. People have already realized that he's still the Noble Warrior. The anti VO circle jerk was a couple days ago.

How dare Riot scrap static, vague lore that told us next to nothing about a Champion. How dare they add tragedy and emotion to form a complex, three-dimensional character. The nerve of them!

Honestly, I’m excited for Aatrox’s full lore to come out. Might finally add something new/interesting to these threads, instead of the same repetitive hate being spewed over and over again.

Uhm how is Aatroxs new lore that different?

His old lore was 90% mystery. If anything the new lore just filled out some of that mystery.

Sure his persoanlity is different,but its too early to say that his lore is different.

Not only the lore, but gameplay. And identity. And how he behaves.

So yeah, lets make another edgy guy for the sake of whatever. All their "we want feedback" from the aatrox subreddit and they also became quiet there suddenly when the fires started. "Its not our problem anymore, its the players'"
