Could an elementalist actually exist?

Before going to the point, I already know that Lux has an elementalist skin, but that skin is another universe, not the one we have most of the lore.

It seems that most mages are attuned to one element from the moment they are born, like Taliyah , Yasuo , Annie and so, and it doesn't seem like teaching to another passes down the magic type, because a wind mage like Yasuo taught a rock mage like Taliyah but Taliyah never learned wind magic, only improved her own.

The only exceptions to this rule are Elementalist Lux (from an alternative future) and Mordekaiser , that seems to use both metal and undead magic, althrought it would seem to be more from the latter, way more, being metal magic only his w and passive, so it could be just controlling his armor with undead powers.

Not even really experienced mages like Ryze and Xerath have been shown using more than one element in their skills

Thats the question then, are Elementalist Mages impossible unless the mage is under really special circumstances or is it just that none on the magic champions apart from Lux ever tried to control more that one kind of magic?

Xerath uses lightning and fire in lore. He could also use telekinesis, which gives you the idea of his being capable of to use water, air and earth magic too.

Xerath used his growing magical powers to summon the elemental spirits of the deep desert and craft a terrible storm.

His lore says that. Seems like he is also capable of summoning spirits.

I would like to see a new champion that, based on an element they select at the start, how that champ will function.

Probably a massive pain in the ass to balance though.

Probably some sort of Vastayan mage in tune with Runeterra

Mordekaiser isn't exactly what we should be considering cannon, as he's extremely outdated. According to his lore, he's a demi-lich (in D&D, it's a lich who's soul has left it's body to roam about, leaving only the skeleton behind), who employs dark necromancy to do his work, along with armor and a big mace. He's not particularly a metal mage, just a walking mass of puns toward death metal at this point, which is a pretty severe disconnect from his lore.

It could be that they can use other magic, but since it isn't their speciality they are far less adapt at it and with four abilities to choose you would probably pick your strongest.

Morde actually doesn't use metal magic anymore, his skills were changed and he now just uses necromancy.

Anyway from what we know it isn't impossible,as there don't seem to be hard rules about what a mage can do and what they can't.

However such a mage would likely be either extremely rare or do it with the help of spirits or some other means.
