Counseling with Nautilus and Zoe
I'm currently in school to be a youth counselor and thought I'd have a little League fun with one of my assignments, enjoy!

- Situation: Nautilus, a warrior of the land has transformed into a creature of the deep sea. Though he has long fought the mermaiden Nami, he could never get himself to hurt her as he had fallen in love with her himself. While those feelings are against everything he had ever been taught, in his current state, he is exiled from that life and wants to pursue his true feelings of longing.
- Negative Thought: “How could I possibly tell her how I feel? After all this time, through all these battles, how could she ever love me?!”
- Thinking Trap: Mind-reading and Fortune-Telling
- Emotion: Distraught and Broken-hearted
- Behavior: Nautilus continues to roam the deep begrudgingly with the pressure of loneliness, like an anchor, weighing him down.
- Three questions you could ask as a Human Services Professional to assist your client: A. Is it possible that after all this time, through all the battles, that she could feel the same way as she has not really hurt you either? B. Now that your past life is behind you, and you are separated from that is it possible that she could see you differently? C. Since you are a creature of the deep now, isn’t there a better chance for an actual relationship?
- Rational Thought: Nautilus sees that especially under the new circumstances he really could pursue a different kind of relationship with Nami.
- New Emotion and Behavior: Nautilus is hopeful and decides to give Nami his weapon as a sign of peace and begins to form a relationship with her.

- Situation: Zoe is the newest champion to enter the League of Legends and is certain that due to widespread rumors of her overpowering abilities and Disney-like demeanor that she will be forever banned and never played.
- Negative Thought: “I’ve heard the rumors, I’ve read the posts, there is an overwhelming number of gamers who vow to never play me because they don’t take me seriously or think I will be too much for the balance of the battle.”
- Thinking Trap: Filtering
- Emotion: Depressed
- Behavior: Zoe continues to “bug out” the champion developers so they cannot add her to the game so she can avoid the dreaded pain of being “perma-banned”.
- Three questions you could ask as a Human Services Professional to assist your client: A. You said there was an overwhelming amount of gamers who didn’t want to play you, but that means there were some who did say they wanted to play you, didn’t they? B. On the most recent post provided by your creators on your behalf, you had thousands of more “smiley” face emote reactions than “angry” face emotes reactions, do you think that is common for a champ that no one is going to play? C. With so many “over-powered” champions already on the rift that are still played every day, don’t you think you will be played with the rest of them?
- Rational Thought: “Wow, there really are a lot of gamers out there who want to play me. Of course there are some who don’t, but they don’t know me yet. I have to get out there and give them all a shot.”
- New Emotion and Behavior: Zoe is optimistic and stops “bugging out” so the champion developers can put her on the rift and allow millions of gamers to applaud and tilt over her greatness.
