Who would be the 'good' characters in League lore wise.
By 'good' I refer to a character that isn't actually evil and wants to protect Runeterra e.g Ryze.

The issue with these sorts of questions is that "good" means a thousand different things to a thousand different people.
Swain wants to protect Runeterra. He's doing so by conquering it and ruling it with an iron fist, but do his ends justify the means?
Xayah wants to protect her people. She's doing so by killing humans encroaching on their ancestral homes and stealing their magic. Is that justified?
The Demacians want to protect their people. Except mages. Is that good?
Lucian is trying to hunt down and slay the undead. But some undead have been shown to have some degree of sentience. Do they all just...deserve that?
There's really no way to define which champions are the "good" ones, but if I had to think of characters who have...pretty much never done anything malevolent.

Even then, it's usually not really "good" as much as it is "nice". But is that even a divide? It's all very subjective.

League is moving away from this binary good bad guy stuff because that's just boring. Real human beings do what they think is best are governed by both a sense to benefit a community (not necessarily EVERYONE) or solely themselves (which isn't always bad).
It's been this way sense Demacia and Noxus became more clearly defined as "grey" rather than America vs the Nazis
The most "benevolent" people (trying to benefit people as individuals) would be
(even though he's so misanthropic)
People trying to benefit their nation because they believe their way of life would be beneficial to all. Would be basically any Demacia or Noxian champ but specifically

Even someone like
has good in him he wants to destroy the world to put an end to suffering.
BAsically it's more complicated than good vs bad nowadays

is probably one of the most good-hearted champions there is.
The concept of ''good '' is directly tied to the moral scale you are using as well as the state of being of the character you are studying ( human , demon e.t.c)...for example although Ryze acts for the greater good of runeterra ( or so we have been told ) he is not above killing someone that stands in his way ( ''an old friend'').Even if ryze's goal is ''good '' he simply isnt ( at least according to european morality ).
On the other side of the fench we have creatures like demons that can not be bound by our morality..they are manifestations of humanity's flaws ...they feed upon them...they are not evil because for them humans are just a food source, they view us as livestock , nothing more nothing less..

She's the most protagonist character in the game.
Her philosophy is that the strong should be rewarded as opposed to Noxus' current stance that the weak should be crushed. Basically let those with power be in power, don't kick the puppy just because it made the other puppies fear you.
She already has a "She's Back" skin.
Good and evil make less sense the more complex a story gets.
is good right?
Braum, Taric, Shen, those sorts.
This guy is good "The God died ,the man lives", so we are talking about Atreus ,others are just psychopatic ,distructive ,self absorbed ,but this man is humble and protective,he fights for humankind,he is a true hero.
just to name a few
I think most the Yordles are good guys

i go with
and
!
The idea of good and bad is lost on the League of Legends lore. They've made it so that each champion and/or faction have more nuanced ideals, morals and ethics just like what we see in real life.
I don't think there's an ultimate good nor an ultimate bad in the lore, I mean you can't even call the void 'evil' because it just spreads and consumes above its own volition, like a disease.
