I thought he was a Thunder Lord? War? Why? Volibear has a ton of potential, and right now he's just a pizza-feet* outmoded champ who needs some love. Looking forward to the werebear reign of supremacy though.

*I know he doesn't have pizza-feet, it's a reference to a point in time.

This is subtle difference. Volibear is not the god of war (personifying that concept -or aspect). But Volibear is a war god. (popular in war and related-to/invoked-during/summoned-in/empowered-in war)

My wishlist for 2019 is : Mordekaiser Pantheon DrMundo Volibear Jax

They said that doing 5 VGUs and 1 VgU year like they did this year isn't really sustainable so they are gonna do less hence my list having 4 full VGUs and one VgU.

Nothing beats the feeling when you get item 3124 item 3748 and smack the living shit out of all the new champs and reworks

At this point its the only reason i return to this game once every few months... hope they never rework him.

Volibear is an interesting champion because his thematic and style is interesting enough and delivers on the idea of being a giant bear. He could use a visual update and a mini rework to his ultimate, but he has held up really well over the years, especially comparing to some of his peers.

Where his lore is concerned pretty sure he isn't specifically war as much as honorable battle. I mean if you look at Aatrox, and then you look at Volibear, and you didn't know what their background was I would not guess Volibear was the one related to war.

As others are pointing out he seems to be more of a warrior than a warmonger.
