How To De-Objectify Women in Comics: A Guide | Heroic Girls

Does anyone else get bothered by the body parts/clothing that just looks and is impossible? I know it's just a game, but much of the artwork could be done in a more tasteful less sexist manner... I am not even a female player and I think it's a bit over the top.

Here's another post about how breasts should be drawn to look more human: http://kotaku.com/heres-how-to-draw-real-boobies-1397268914

Riot's been getting better (Taliyah, Illaoi, Rek'sai) at making more distinct female champions that aren't meant for simple eye candy. Hell Pool Party MF could have been much more of a tease considering what MF is (though Fiora and Taric did much fan service and many rejoiced).

Well tbh OP has a valid point to be made, a lot of female characters in entertainment have as much in common as with Bond Girls from the 60s & 70s. Females are intended to be, for the most part as eye candy for predominantly male audiences. But like what most have already said, Riot has made a strong effort to break away from those cliches and it is a breath of fresh air to see changes for new characters (tho ask anyone who has a problem with Taliyah's appearance and they'd say otherwise).

Elise EvelynnNidalee MissFortune These characters use their sexuality as a key characteristic trait and that's fine because there's only them out of the remaining female roster.

However there are some that I would personally agree with that have been "Objectified" Morgana So Morgana can only cover everything from the waist down? Leblanc Not so much LB, other then wearing clothes similar to that of a.... Lady of the Night. Janna Jana is described as a smart girl, but she apparently likes to only cover her bits with toilet paper.

In the end, that's it in the way of "Objectified" female characters and that's what... only 7 out of 43 give or take, despite the fact that 4 of them use their sexuality to an effect.

Some older splash arts are still problematic but I feel Riot has improved a lot in regards to this.

Just look at the new Nidalee splash arts for instance.

Also Taliyah and Illaoi.

Miss Fortune is the main offender, but I really hope they continue with female characters like jinx, Illaoi, and Tayliah who aren't just super thin and big breasted.

Gotta love how feminists think this issue is reserved for women. As if champs like Braum Alistar Olaf were any closer to a realistic representation of what a man should look like, or how Graves Yasuo or Draven were representations of how men should act.

Objectification is present in 99% of games that aren't from Nintendo, and it will always be there. Because games are fantasies, and if I wanted to play a game as myself, I would play life. Fantasies are meant to be fantastic. Its what society wants us to perceive, and to be quite honest, lets not be stupid here, shit would not sell if it wasn't from all these voluptuous virtual boobs and rock hard eight-packs.

I know this is prob just bait, but let's look at it for real. A lot of women in League have very action-oriented poses, so when you think "yeah, they just stuck her ass out there for the sake of doing it", look at the full picture. Then as for the entire champion theme, there are plenty of champs that are not objectified and for others it's literally their design to look like that.
