@Riot: Ionian Pirates?

All the pirate stuff in the game is based on European pirates. Are there any pirates with an eastern theme in Ionia?

Like the real life pirate Ching Shih, she was arguably the most successful pirate queen to ever live. Having over 300 ships, and at least 20,000 crewmen in the Red Flag Fleet. She was able to hold off the British and Chinese navy. She retired by bargaining for amnesty for herself and most of her crew. They were even allowed to keep all of the stuff they stole.

It’s likely that we may see piracy in Ionia grow in the wake of the Invasion. We may also see Ionian emigrants to Noxus or Bilgewater.

If you want to know more about her, there's a great podcast on her here:

War calls poverty. Poverty calls crime. And in a continent in equilibrium were conflict was a foreign word to many before the noxian invasion... Well, I wouldn't be surprised if the shores of Ionia, or even Noxus as an act of vengeance, were filled with bands of pirates formed and organized by ex-soldiers and ex-officials.
