Ezreal Lore Questions

Many moons have passed since the Lore update, and ever since then my haunt for the elusive Fauxschizzle has raged on. I called out for him in Reddit, but I lost my chance by not acting quick enough, twitter is fruitless too. So Here I am, shooting my shot over the questions that still plague my mind.

  1. How old was he when his parents were declared dead? and since he found his gauntlet? It feels recent

  2. Jarro Lightfeather is not only the best nickname that still makes me giggle when I see it, but he is also Ezreal’s alter ego in Demacia. Does he have actual hero fame? Sylas calls for him like he’s got some beef.

  3. How antagonistic is the relationship with his uncle? Like, ‘you never cared for me’ antagonistic or something else?

  4. Are his feelings for Lux true? I mean, does he actually like her. His attempts at flirting fit nicely with the Confident Character Doubts When In Front Of Love Interest, and he doesn’t talk to Xayah that way nor seems to have problems with other pretty ladies.

  1. As said before, we really have no clue, which is unfortunate.

I've seen somewhere that someone, I think it was the writer himself, say that Jarro Lightfeather is really humble and selfless, the way I feel like Ez would actually act if he wasn't trying to gain fame and have his parents return. I think that he really is a national hero, an he is part of the Sentinels of Light, like Lucian and Senna. I don't have proof, but I think that Ezreal would make the most out of not being held to his own standards of how the Amazing Explorer Ezreal should act.

  3. I think that he does still for his uncle, because he's his only family left, but neither really show it often for their own reasons. Lymere is a brilliant professor, but had no clue how to raise Ezreal and probably doesn't really know how to express that he cares for his nephew other than giving him private lessons, which unfortunately meant that Ez had no friends growing up. Ezreal, on the other hand, is probably upset that Lymere was never really there for him and kept him at an arm's length, because he doesn't realize how hard it is for his uncle to be a parent figure.

  4. I think they are, and she could help him heal from the wounds of losing his parents and not really having anybody who shows him any sort of affection. He's lonely, and she has had a rough past, and both of them know about hiding their true selves under facades; Lux as a cheerful patriot, and Ez as a cocky, thrill-seeking explorer with eyes for fame and riches.

I have a question of my own though. What is Ezreal's last name? I had asked last year, but it was right before Christmas/New Year, and Faux couldn't get back to me. I would be happy if he were to enlighten us with the answers to all the questions here and maybe even more.

Don't know the answer to most of them, but as the resident crazy Realux shipper,

Ezreal would genuinely love Lux, but is at present only smitten with her after a very brief meeting. In addition, a relationship with her, would, as per his writers statements, be very good for his emotional issues. And her personality and presence would also serve as an excellent set of reigns to his arrogant attitude.

The fact of the matter is Ezreal is a pompous arrogant jackass. Because he was raised in Piltover. The city of pompous arrogant jackasses. Ezreal hates who he is, but it's all he knows. Lux would personality wise be a great counter to his up bringing.

Ah some questions about my boi, here are my thoughts:

  1. Really wish we had a confirmation for this one because it affects his motivations quite a bit. The younger he was the more likely he will think his parents left him and not that they just got lost. I say he was about 18-19 when he got news they were missing and 20-21 when he got the guantlet - bearing in mind it took him months to find it when he set off. This is based off the fact that he was already in university when he left and talks about getting a degree. So assuming the school system is similar to ours(which it looks like it is from Ekko's lore) then he would be of university age. This also assumes he didn't start university early as he is a child genius but you'd think he'd have a degree by this age if he did start early. Don't think we canonically know how old he is now/where he is in the timeline.

  2. This one's tricky. Since the name is made up from his pomade it means he couldn't have just stolen some old hero's identity and people just so happened to write books on him. This means that he must have done something in Demacia and have people write about him/talk about him. If it wasn't for Sylas' line then we could assume he just tells people he's a national hero and just wears fancy clothes or something - people would have believed him. But for Sylas to know about him he must have done something for Demacia. Assuming Ezreal and Lux's ages are similar, Sylas wouldn't have heard about him from his time in jail, Ezreal would have been far too young to have done anything. The heroic thing he must have done would be to help the people of Demacia after Sylas got out. Then Sylas would have heard about him because he goes against Sylas' plans.

  3. People seem to interpret the relationship as pretty antagonistic but I don't think it is(anyway it's nowhere near as bad as Indiana Jones and his father). His uncle only gets frustrated because he loves him. He wants him to succeed in academia, he sees that Ezreal passes things easily with little effort and is only frustrated because he feels Ezreal is wasting his potential. Ezreal cares about him, he left a note telling him he was leaving, if he disliked him he wouldn't have put that much thought into it. The big clue is the story 'An Explorer's Journey' which takes place post guantlet after he'd been away from his uncle for months, and he still has dinner with him and pays for his stuff. Plus it seems like they have this new banter thing going on that wasn't mentioned in his bio, I guess his uncle is more open to him exploring/feels like he doesn't have to protect him as much(would be cool if we had a story exploring this further).

  4. We have no idea, in none of his stories or bio does he actually speak to any women, all we have is voice lines. He probably meets her when helping Demacia against Sylas but canonically they still haven't met.
