Pyke does have a real short story

Pyke isn't the only champion to have a criminally short written backstory, but he doesn't need one when his voice lines ARE his short story.

Though I agree with just about everyone that the interactions between champions deserve to be far better than they are, I like the fact that if you put all of his voice lines in the right order it tells his tale.

In the youtube video after a couple minutes in the beginning and again closer towards the end, it starts to seem like Pyke talking to someone about what, why, and who he is; but the lines are probably in the same order that their respective files are in when looking at them in the game. From the little bit that is arranged into a story I get the feeling that pyke has always been a murder-happy cutthroat, even in life. I feel that he was forced to walk the plank, thus giving birth to his hatred for captains, and perhaps the line "you betrayed me Kalista" is because she was either his captain (who later suffered a mutiny?) or a crew member that ratted him out. One thing i see people confused about Pyke's character design is the fact that he has a list, but the list always gets longer and never shorter. With the character and story revealed through the audio, I think Pyke literally wants to kill everyone and everything, but he makes a list so that he actually feels like hes working at it instead of just killing an endless horde of things.

I do not know how to edit videos together but if someone can arrange the lines in the order that the writer wanted them in, i would love to see that. Then maybe we can have a little more clarity about who, what, and why Pyke is.

"you betrayed me Kalista" I think that line is more about the fact that Kalista is a spectre that punishes betrayers, yet didn't punish or seek vengeance for those that Pyke thinks betrayed him. That's why he feels Kalista betrayed him. But that's just what I make of it.

Pykes official lore states a different story though.

He wasn't a pirate and not forced to walk the plank either,he was a fisher, who helped to capture giant sea monsters, but his captain panicked and left him behind with the monster.

Kalista was a general of a long forgotten nameless kingdom, she isn't from Bilgewater like Pyke,so this line likely means that Pyke attempted to summon Kalista so that she could get vengeance for him,but Kalista rejected his offer(I guess he was already crazy at that point)
