Upcoming Shonen Skin Line

We got told earlier this year that Riot will release a skin line which is inspired by shonen anime and we also got a picture related to that: https://news.mogul.gg/content/images/2019/01/League-of-Legends-Shounen.jpg

It seems that there is some kind of event involved here and it includes different clubs (battle, engineer, sorcerer and assassination). There also was a badge for a "teacher", but I couldn't find a good picture with that in it, too.

Now, looking at this picture, I had an idea how this entire skin line and event will turn out, but I would like to read the ideas of other people as well, so tell me what you think about it!

About my imagination: Maybe it is very unlikely, but I think it would be absolutely awesome if this skin line is referencing Assassination Classroom!

One skin is dedicated to a monstrous teacher, in this universe a school put together a special class with the task to assassinate him. Best choice for this teacher would probably be Zac. Zac

He would reference Koro-Sensei the best of every champion in my opinion and outside of his worlds skin (which don't count for the schedule), he didn't receive a skin for quite some years.

Then the students, each of them is the top performer of a club in the school and they got chosen to be in Zacs class because their abilities give them an advantage at killing their target. I could imagine the following picks for these clubs, I will mention 1 male and 1 female example each.

Battle Garen Riven

Engineer Jayce Orianna (Orianna could reference Ritsu, the AI in Assassination Classroom)

Sorcerer Vladimir Karma

Assassination Talon Akali

Additionally, this event could give us a game mode. Some players have to battle the teacher, which is completely overpowers with skill upgrades just like Kayn was in Odyssey. The difference: Instead of fighting an NPC boss, one player in this game mode gets chosen to play the teacher!

So basically it is asymmetric PvP, like in Evolve. One player plays something with immense power, while a small group of weaker players have the goal to take him down.

As a future teacher myself, I would be absolutely euphoric if this turns out to be true. What do you guys think? Would it be awesome to fight a supernatural teacher as a bunch of high schoolers? Maybe you have an even better idea how all of this is going to turn out?

I'm pretty sure it'll be Boku no Hero Academia inspired tbh, it's pretty popular in recent times.

Karma as a student? I'd say no. She's older, and definitely fits the mentor role a lot better. She'd be more likely to be a professor than anyone else (except Illaoi).

I'm not big into the Shonen genre myself, but I think this is a really interesting theme for League to have. Your ideas sound solid, and I especially like the idea of Zac being the teacher!

I think this skinline was created for Champions who fit the anime theme, but not Star Guardians (which I think is our only other anime-esque skinline), so I can see if more masculine or melee types are the ones for this skinline.

Ooo yeah Assassination Classroom could be a good reference if they are going for a new school type theme. Since they do appear to have that school club going on here with the Battle, Engineer, Assassination, Sorcery titles. The imagery also makes them feel like some kind of Crest, not sure how that would play into it, maybe appears on the outfits themselves.

I also feel either that first bottom part of the image was either the initial concept or it makes me feel that they could have some kind of evolution to them being it shows one star and then goes to two stars. So there could be something special there with those.

Jayce is a great pick, he definitely could use a new skin and I'd like to see what they could do if it is some new kind of school / academy type setting. Akali and Talon would be great Assassins for the Assassination one for sure. Not 100% sure on the others yet though. They do have pretty vague titles but hmm there are plenty of good options, especially for those champs that don't have or haven't seen a lot of skins recently.

It's hinted that the potential New Champion may release alongside the skinline too, perhaps they'll be the teacher.

School of [insert wacky thing here] is a pretty popular framing device in anime to get a bunch of characters of varying personalities and backgrounds together who might normally not interact otherwise. There are so many anime like this I doubt I'd ever be able to name them all! So, I don't think it's going to be specifically mimicking any one particular school anime be it MHA or Assassination Classroom or otherwise. I think more likely than not it's going to pull its influence from a bunch of different school centered shonen anime just like how star guardian pulls its influence from lots of different magical girl anime!
