Anyone else find it stupid that Yasuo kills his pursuers?

I know he's trying to prove he's innocent but it's kind of hard to do that when he's killed scores of people. What happens when he does catch the real murder and everyone finds out he wasn't lying, will the deaths of all the people sent after him be swept under the rug?

He's murdered dozens to say that he didn't murder one. Seems redundant.

Has he even made an attempt to say that he's innocent? I don&'t think Yasuo is the good guy here, I think he's just found an excuse to kill.

Teaching a swordsman to kill is simple. The true challenge lies in teaching him not to kill.

It is pretty set that he has no grounds to say he is Innocent to the pursuers, plus it isn't the pursuers' position to decide if the target is on the "Kill on sight" list.

I can only figure that this was early in Yasuo's being chased situation because very quickly the death toll on "Common man" level of bounty hunters would a large sum. This would make most people consider him too dangerous to fight.

For example the city guard and everyone could know where he was but don't dare to fight him once he comes overtly infamous.

Because of the noxian invasion, everyone is on a bit of an edge. Yasuo is believed too dangerous to be brought to trial, so they'll kill him on the spot.

It's not exactly do unto others before they do unto him, but rather killing is his only way out. It's a problem because he obviously has no intention of fighting them, but those that are sent to kill him have to do it or be ostracized/killed if they return without his head. So the pursuers are in a position where if they don't kill him, they should probably just never show their faces in Ionia ever again for having disgraced their nation.

They're not there to arrest him. They're there to kill him. The way he sees it, his only option is to do unto others before they do unto him, so to speak. And a sword isn't exactly nonlethal.

As long as you kill the Evil Person Who Framed You and prove your innocence nobody ever seems to care how many Stormtroopers died on the way.

I have a feeling its more of a 'It won't matter if I try to prove my innocence, they wouldn't believe me' situation. So he's probably just given up on that path.

As for the killing of his pursuers, I imagine that this could for several possible reasons:

  1. He feels he might be always pursued, even after he finds the person responsible, so he kills his pursuers so there are less of them he has to deal with later.
  2. He's such a deadly warrior that ultimately when he fights it leads to death; he's not able to hold back enough or it's just instinctual to land the killing blow in a fight where his life is on the line. (Cause lets face it when this happens in shows, pursuers of the protagonists probably wouldn't actually survive a single hit from most main characters).
  3. Some of his pursuers could actually be in on the whole thing, like those soldiers could have just been corrupt.
  4. In that particular instance he might have also not wanted to risk the girl being considered an accomplice and killed, so possibly protecting her.

Overall, I can see how his actions might not fit a lone wanderer, falsely accused of murder. But at the same time I feel that these deaths more realistically fit what would actually happen when a warrior such as Yasuo is being hunted down, with his life on the line, over a murder he was framed for.

Trying to fight an opponent with your sword without killing them can be very risky and Yasuo probably doesn't want to risk his own life only to spare that of the pursuers.

Even if he managed to defeat them without killing them, they could come back stronger and better prepared, which would be dangerous for yasuo as well.

Watch 'Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit'.

Pay attention to Jiguro's storyline, told through flashbacks.

When you enemy is very skilled and will not stop until you are dead, you are left with little options.
