Akali Tattoo, why though.

Want to say where I am coming from first, I dislike tattoos and the growing trend, and am surprised especially because of the negative social psychology encompassing it and the fact that it ties in with affecting someones self perception and overall self-esteem negatively; also peer pressure and trying to "fit in" is contributing to that a good amount too. Anyway not trying to make this a detailed why "tattoos are good or bad thread" just saying they tend to cause a subtle type of harm to people, and others who aren't aware do yourself a favor and do some research into that and the overall psychology behind getting a tattoo and statistics such as the amount of people who end up removing and regretting getting a tattoo. Just try to be objective and open minded while finding information on the topic if you are biased towards tattoos for the sake of getting a better understanding despite any misconceptions you might have, so you get better grasp of how it is affecting many people negatively. I believe most people who get a tattoo are people who have a problem loving themselves, and aren't proud of who they already are as a person, and are trying too hard in the wrong way to compensate for that lack of love towards the self, and then they just end up hurting themselves. It's something self-destructive in a subtle way.

That being said, including the art style of tattoos it just is not something I like but that's me, and this is a game( that is potentially contributing to the growth of tattoos with new Akali but I digress); however curious for sake of understanding as far as league community goes, who is for Akali getting a tattoo and like it being on her in her new rework, and who would like it to be removed. I even think going far as her identity as a character and her ideals and background it seems strange for that type of character to have such a large an intricate tattoo. I don't know Akali that well, am I missing a specific reason why they decided to do that for her? or was it random and to give her like a "intimidating vibe", I like her new "edgey" type of character without the tattoos there.

Her weapons and new abilities will intimidate squishies enough already, and if she does not have a tattoo then lore wise I think she would give off a more dignified vibe as a character regarding her decision to leave the order, again it just seemed like something unnecessarily random to give her as a champion.

So really curious what everyone else thinks, and if I am in the minority. I made a poll so please vote.

I feel like the people who you are talking to have no idea what they're talking about lol. I work in the night life industry (Bartending) and have seen all sorts of different Tats and most of them have no regrets and thoroughly love them. I'd say 85% of them don't seem to have low self-esteem or don't love themselves. Most Tats represent something to the people getting them. I personally don't have any and Idk if I'll ever get one but I know that the people getting them generally get them for a reason. My mom has Tats and each one means something different and meaningful to her.

As someone who does Tattoo's for a living, this post makes me sick. A huge percentage of people who do get tattoo's have those tattoo's to represent something that's meaningful in their life, not just because "they want them to be part of the cool kids". Of course, there are some who just want a tattoo because they think it's badass, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, and in Akali's case, it's to represent rebellion, not just something because "why not".

It fits her whole rogue Ninja aesthetic. Think Yakuza, but Ionian :P

I'm personally fond of tasteful, appropriate tattoos so I think it works for Akali.

it's supposed to be here because she left the kinkou after she disagreed with them

Dragon tattoo is a reference to Yakuzas who used tattoos in the edo era to show their rebellion

U missed to add third option: "Doesn't matter for me", because I don't mind both options.

You come of as either biased against tattoos or woefully misinformed. Tattoos, and any body markings in general, are a very old thing that have various purposes. Denoting group loyalty, expressing one's self, think they look cool, etc. While I, personally, never want a tattoo I know they have significant meaning to a lot of people that is not negative or peer pressure. Heck the only times I have come across people feeling bad about their tattoos are when the tattoo is either messed up or the personal meaning of the tattoo is ruined (like if you get a tattoo of a person's name and you have a bad break up with that person afterwards). So in short bad views of tattoos are usually from people with outside the tattoo culture or have any one of various reasons to have a bad view of them (religion, bad run ins with tattooed people, or got a tattoo and latter regretted it for some reason).
