Now don't get me wrong, physically it's described exactly like Zoe. But mentally?
Myisha shows interpersonal intelligence. Myisha has a long-term plan and counter-measures. Myisha understands the ramification of her actions. Myisha understands judgment and the concept of death as punishment. Myisha is a calculating, intelligent, and merciless. But enjoys being mischievous.
Compare that to Zoe. Zoe does not have a plan. Zoe wanders around aimlessly hoping that things go her way. Zoe nukes a town and doesn't understand that she killed people. Zoe is an idiot savant, who outside of her understanding of astrophysics is a petulant naive child.
Outside of her love of mischief these two characters are completely different.
Personally, I think this wasn't Zoe. This was the space parasite taking complete control of Zoe's body for the mission. Probably because it knew that Zoe did not have the temperament to pull off such a complicated plan.
Which of course, doesn't mean you should stop hating Zoe. Just also hate the Space Targs, because they're the worst.
Honestly, the heart-ripping part was almost tame compared to the "let's seal these incredibly powerful yet entirely killable folks in weapons and hope that doesn't backfire horribly a few centuries down the line" part.
It's basically a free version of Photoshop - missing a few bells and whistles but perfectly functional.
