Grungy Nunu: Did the re-design team completely miss the point?

I'm very glad I didn't get this skin when it was on sale, because the devs completely ruined it with the new rework.

Yes it's very cute now, and high quality, that's expected with the new standard at Riot.

Why remove the Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster combo? Are the new people working at Riot too young to remember Sesame Street? Unlikely.

So they must be pandering to younger audiences and foreign markets who wouldn't be familiar with it. But why? It's not like this skin is going to net them tons of cash because of its theme.

It's completely generic now anyway (very similar to that pajama Gnar one). So people who wouldn't understand Sesame street still would have enjoyed a seemingly generic blue willump and nunu in green costume.

It was "Grungy" because nunu should have been in a tin garbage can. There's nothing grungy about a child playing dress-up with a stuffed animal.

If you're going to change the theme to something like this, why not at least go with the "Where the Wild Things Are"?

This concept was just poor overall.

If you ask me, the skin itself is fine. There's literally nothing wrong with it.

If anything, it should be renamed to something else since the new theme is entirely different from it's original theme.

They didn't want to get sued, likely. A blue yeti and a kid in a green furry jacket inside a trash can is vague enough. But an up-to-date blue monster rolling around a giant cookie would be a nope.

I think that the real problem was the new model of the champion... it has antlers and 2 more arms, i dont remember a chararter from Sesame Street with 4 arms and antlers. And Nunu now moves arround unlike the older model, so, staying in the trash can like Oscar would make litttle sense

I agree, definitely not left upset about the new skin, but would really like to have some transparency on why they scrapped the Oscar the grouch and cookie monster theme. Maybe Sesame street was claiming copy right this whole time or something, but that's okay could they let us know tho? Would it be that big of a deal to just tell us something like that?
