Rengar vs Kha'Zix

My and my brother have been debating on the Rengar vs Kha'Zix fight. He believes that Kha'Zix's evolution capabilities and superior physical ability will lead to his eventual victory. But personally I think Rengar's unmatched instinct, the fact that he creates and wields weapons, and his experience killing creatures much stronger than him will make him victorious in the end.

The only known encounter between the two was their first fight, which ended in a draw. I say that the only reason Rengar did not kill Kha'Zix there was because he had never fought a voidborn before (he did not even know they existed), and thus was completely unprepared. But my brother argues that Kha'Zix is only getting stronger, and Rengar failed to kill him at the weakest he will ever be. Who do you think will win?

Team Kha'Zix ftw.

In-lore though, I do think Kha'Zix would win.

First, you say the battle ended in a draw, and though that's correct, let's look at the aftereffects. Both were nearly beaten to death, but Kha'Zix fully recovered, now showing no damage at all. This suggests that after the battle, Kha'Zix continued to hunt and feed, rejuvenating his form to full might and perhaps even gaining some new traits along the way. Rengar on the other hand was left on the verge of death, out of commission in his den. Plus, where Kha'Zix wears not a single scratch from the fight, Rengar completely lost an eye.

Second, Kha'Zix continually evolves and changes. While Rengar is probably only sharpening the tools and honing the skills he already has, Kha'Zix can adapt entirely new abilities, not only growing physically stronger but perhaps learning as well. And since Kha'Zix is all about adaptation, since he's already seen what Rengar is capable of, Kha'Zix can come fully prepared with a slew of skills and traits. Basically, the Voidreaver is much more adaptable and willing to change should he be met with failure, while the Pridestalker is limited in his arsenal and capabilities. Hell, he's called the Pridestalker; his arrogance will probably make him too stubborn to change even if it's costing him his life.

Third, if it's a match of pure strength and will, let's just look at their origins. Rengar was born and raised on Runeterra and hunts the strongest creatures this world has to offer. Kha'Zix crossed through dimensions from one much more horrific than this one and started frail in an alien world yet still managed to become an alpha predator here. Rengar is limited by the laws of one world; Kha'Zix has the strength of two. Rengar was raised by humans to be a hunter; Kha'Zix was born to be the apex predator. Rengar most likely hunted simple animals; Kha'Zix, pre-evolved, probably had to deal with the likes of beings like Cho'Gath and Rek'Sai. Rengar had the care and assistance of his foster parents in his early years to become a hunter; Kha'Zix came through dimensions alone and frail, yet still managed to become a fearsome beast without anything more than his bare claws and teeth. Not only is Kha'Zix's will stronger and he's better suited to dealing with threats based on experience alone, the Voidreaver is even more in inspirational. He's had to deal with much more, yet still becomes the top of his game.

Is Rengar a worthy opponent for Kha'Zix? Absolutely, I don't doubt he'd be able to inflict some pretty gruesome wounds on the Voidreaver. But I think where Rengar can hurt Kha'Zix, Kha'Zix can ultimately kill Rengar. It's a battle between one who's incredibly strong against another who's strength can only grow. And if they were already matched back then but Rengar couldn't kill his rival, then the balance of power between the two can only shift more and more towards Kha'Zix.

I think there's a live-action movie about this.

Alien vs. Predator (2004 film)

Rengar ganks Sion GET TO DA CHOPPA! DO IT NAUW!

Seriously, though, it makes me sad that most Rengar and Kha'zix jokes are playing on the whole "bug/cat" thing, rather than the Predator/Alien allusions. I mean, Rengar's even got a heat-vision invisibility ultimate.

Based on my personal bias; Kha'Zix.

Objectively; both or neither. Kha'Zix and Rengar are evenly matched on the basis of their strengths, adaptability and flexibility, respectively.

Rengar possesses a respectable level of experience hunting very dangerous game. He employs a variety of tools to effectively combat significantly greater threats. At any given time he has numerous assets to address a given situation. With appropriate planning and careful execution, Rengar can emerge victorious over his most dangerous rival.

Kha'Zix is bred for singular combat, the very purpose of his existence is to fight, kill, consume, repeat. Every adaptation he takes is designed by nature to be the most efficient tool, specialized instruments of unparalleled precision. He is the biological equivalent of a swiss army knife that can enhance its current arsenal or replace whatever becomes obsolete. Over time, Kha'Zix can overcome the weakness of overspecialization by simply having enough to specialize in everything.

In short, Rengar has the advantage in the short term, but the longer the conflict goes on, success swings in Kha'Zix's favor.

Edit:

Regardless of the outcome, seeing the two go head to head in a Riot cinematic would be damn epic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyHB8DQpMBM

but kha'zix is purple, so he must be better! I mean, Rengar is fluffier, but being fluffy means nothing when you're up against purple!

I vote Batman.

Well.

Technically Kha'zix, as he will continue to evolve until he is the ultimate life form.

if he eats rengar...... he will get god like

junglerboy163/19/2015, 9:50:52 PM3 votes

That vote is the closest to a draw I've ever seen...

My vote is on Rengar. While he innately is not as adaptive or necessarily powerful as Kha'zix, he has weapons, strategy, and cunning backing him up where Kha'zix has to rely on instinct, adaptation, and sneakiness. The thing most people forget about Kha'zix is that he only takes on attributes of things he has slain and eaten, so he is limited in that he can only truly become the best of what is already on Runeterra, which individually Rengar has bested numerous times (See his lore where he gets bored because there was nothing dangerous left to hunt). It would be very close, but Kha'zix is by no means unlimited in terms of adaptation and potential, and Rengar's superior hunting intellect combined with his natural savagery would give him the ultimate edge, if only slightly so.

I'd bet on Kha'zix given that kha has the natural ability to become stronger by consuiming more stuff and that despite the battle ending in a draw, kha was able to get one of rengars eyes,so thats a point for him.

However Rengar might be more careful,he now knows what he's up against and is probably doing preparations and training for the eventual battle, while kha seems to be rather overconfident, which could be his letdown.

Oh no. Definitely Khazix.

Rengo lost an eye to this guy AND got whooped by a prehistoric midget Gnar. He's only agile when he's in brush (what is he doing? Smoking the stuff?), while Kha'Zix can leap great distances. Rengar can activate his "predatory instincts" to become invisible, except you can hear him even without exclamation mark! Even with this, if Kha eats an animal with great hearing, echolocation, or a great sense of smell, he'll know exactly where he is. Sure he can make or get weapons, possibly even a gun if he's willing to use such a tool, but this can be useless if Khazix eats enough animals to become well armored.

Worst of all, if Kha gains a strength relative to mega Gnar and Rengar doesn't gain a great amount of strength and skill, he's screwed.

Lmao, this pole is 41 v 41. It would appear that Riot succeeded in making both characters equally loved.

Personally, Rengar.

Rengar. Why? Because he is manly as fuck. When he jumps somebody he doesnt immediately jump out like coward Kha Zix, he stays there and murder your entire team. Case in point: Kha Zix assassination potential is only when there a weak and alone prey, and even then he must immediately bail out. Rengar doesnt give a crap whos who and murder you and the people near you regardless of circumstances, more people, more fun as he gets stronger the more people he roared. TL:DR Rengar is manlier

zoliking3/10/2018, 3:11:12 PM1 votes

I think it would depend entirely on the encounter. Both of these guys are hunters, if Rengar can lure Kha into a trap, Kha's dead. If Kha gets the drop on Rengar, then Rengar's dead.

I like to put my cards on superior intelligence. Not that Kha'Zix isn't smart, just Rengar is smart like a human being (able to make his own tools, set his own traps) and also has the agility and strength of an animal. It takes both cunning and strength to be the best. He's a versatile being that can use a wide-range of strategies, think them through and also change things and preform on the fly, sometimes on pure instinct.

However, Kha'Zix is sort of like a hyper-carry: the longer you wait, the stronger and stronger he will become. His intelligence will eventually increase as he consumes smarter beings and his strength and speed will certainly increase. I don't know, I guess I'm on the fence about it.

Still leaning towards Team Gengar, though.
