I always thought that The Ruined King wasn't going to be important to the lore and had zero chance to be a champion, his purpose is to serve as a tragic figure that started the Ruination and as Lucians' dark mirror because they both go to some extremes to save the ones they love. The Ruined King doesn't really need to be more than that.
Now that Senna name dropped him at the end of the bio and confirmed he is still relevant its' clear that he is gonna have some future in the lore at the least and maybe might even be part of the game at some point.
I don't hate that Senna is back and has her physical form its' just the execution that was cheesy. This whole "infected with life" thing is cheesy, it has no basis in any established rules that we have been presented with so far and feels so very fanfic. Like the writers are so desperate to bring back Senna in this idealized form that they'll do it at any cost to the logic of the Universe, which was starting to settle for once now that we know how all the pieces of the Universe fit together.
Asspulls like this late in the game is going to get harder and harder to do believably than they were in 2017 when we didn't even know what the Void, Darkin Celestials and etc really were and Riot were just teasing stuff.
They could still have Senna in the game, it's just that there were better ways to do it. What if she was just an amalgamation of all the souls in the lantern, but Sennas' body formed the vessel for all these souls because she was the only one who stayed strong in the lantern and was known as the "Shepard of lost Souls" who stayed strong when everyone else wanted to break? To Lucian this is still his wife, but in reality it's more than one entity. This explanation still preserves the big conflict between Senna and Lucian that's obviously taking form here.
Lucian is gonna need to accept that the Senna he got back is not the same one that went into the lantern and while their future hunt for the Ruined King represents a physical journey, at the same time the reassessment of their relationship will form an emotional one. You can still have that with a much less cheesy "chosen one" trope that Senna has permeating through her bio.
While a bit too convenient even having Yorick bring back/purify Senna somehow with the Waters of Life is less of an asspull because at least we've known about the waters' properties for some time now.
There's just a lot wrong with it. Why does the Black Mist have to have such a hard on for her? How the hell can you have a soul of powerful "life"... life seems to me like more of a binary quality to have lol. Alive things usually having pulses and undead things not... How do you get MORE ALIVE? Good diet and exercise? Why does this all feel like a big metaphor for the Ruined King (The Black Mist) chasing after his queen (the soul Senna found). Maybe the color story will provide context, but I'm skeptical.
