Voice Actor Mispronouncing Aphelios... UH-FEE-LEE-OS.. not uh- FELL -- ee- os

I'm writing this because at the end of the reveal trailer you can hear his sister Alune call him uh-FELL-ee-os with a British accent (I guess since British people are more refined, that's how moon people talk -- fine). Please don't give me the "Riot invented it, so it can be whatever". British and American English should both be pronouncing this name the same, since it's based on a Greek word.

'Aphelios' is based on the word 'aphelion' (definition: furthest point from the sun in an orbit)... I mean, the moon orbits the Earth, but fine, the name sounds cool. Just do a quick google translate of aphelion and listen to how it's said in English and in Greek.

I mean honestly, you shouldn't because most people have heard the word HELIUM... In your heads, you all just read the word out correctly, and I can guarantee that no one read it as "HELL-ium".

Like I said, I don't buy it that this is some dialect they've invented for this region of Runeterra... it just ends up sounding like an awkward fake accent ..... see: Jayden Smith's weird After Earth accent.

It ain’t that deep bro, just pronounce it how they’re presenting it to you.

My name is pronounced differently depending on which language is being spoken. Same spelling, but pronunciation is adjusted on one syllable for pretty much aesthetic purposes depending on whether Spanish (or any Latin-derived language) or English is being spoken.

There’s a reason why the RWBY team told linguistic nitpickers to fuck off when name pronunciation was being brought up in the first volumes.

There’s a reason why people where miffed at TLA movie making a change that wasn’t necessary and using the “Asian ‘A’” phoneme for “proper cultural representation” (least of the problems with the movie, I know).

It’s. Not. That. Deep. It’s a name in a fantasy setting. Edit: “a-FELL-ios” is more aesthetically pleasing in my opinion, but maybe it’s just me.

Did what you asked.
