I shudder at the sight of people forgiving Riven so easily. She was an officer in an army that fought a war of aggression. She earned that blade for helping conquer especially large amounts of Ionian land. Riven deserves life in prison along with any other captured Noxian officers, if not the enlisted as well.

This was a good read. But I have a question: What's next? What's next for Riven's story? What's next for Yasuo's story? Obviously their stories can't end here, so I wonder what's next.

With the main arc of Yasuo's story cleared, they pretty much have freedom to in a number of possible directions with his story.

With Riven, I wonder if her time in Ionia will help rekindle her love for Noxus & inspire her to go back & change Noxus for the better. I wonder what will happen to her while in Ionia. There's no way in hell they plan to keep on community service. Maybe other, less forgiving Ionians will come after her. Maybe some event will happen to have her run into other champs.

While interesting, I have a few nitpicks:

  • The story seemed to resolve itself extremely fast. In the span of two days Riven is discovered, atones for what she did, has confrontation with Yasuo and that's....it?

  • The fact that Riven didn't murder and that it was an act of god, so to say, felt cheap. It takes the weight from whoever murdered him and makes it feel like Riot is going "No see we're all good guys here just a terrible misunderstanding".

  • This story leaves more questions than it answers. Why was Riven trying to break the blade? (Unless the fight in the village wasn't during a warzone but the tail end of the war). Did Darkwill make the blade do this as a time-bomb for Riven betraying Noxus? Does this clear Yasuo's name or is this known only to the village? Is Riven going to forsake her warrior ways? I feel like this could be helped with an epilogue or something small but it seems the story is over.

  • Yasuo's dialogue in the story was mostly in-game quotes. I don't mind one or two but when Yasuo keeps using them it kinda grinds on me. One or two is fine but after that it felt like someone dredging his dialogue from the wiki.

Still, I can't overlook the major point of this story: The "murder" of Yasuo's mentor is solved, Riven and Yasuo are not enemies (so to speak) and progression has happened. Well done.

Well, now they sorta need to add what'll happen to Yasuo. Like, if they just leave him being a wanted criminal, that'd be downright awful, and would end up getting even more people killed, given how anyone who's tried to apprehend him has fared.
