Theories about why Kayle and Morgana are linked with Demacia

So my opinion is that they were originally Demacian citizens and they were both gifted magicians. Because of Demacia’s hatred of magic Kayle and Morgana self-exiled and took a boat to Shurima to live and study there with great magicians. Many years past and Kayle and Morgana showed potential for magic beyond any Shuriman for a long time. So they were chosen to take the ascension ritual but Morgana’s ritual went horribly wrong and she turned into an image of a fallen angel. The reason why they didn’t turn to animals is because they come from Demacia and Demacia has angelic aesthetics and this is what they consider as the most highest state.

There is ahuge flaw in this. Demacia was founded after the Rune Wars and Shurima fell faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar before the Rune Wars happened, unless they Ascended in the Shurima recently risen by Azir, something really unlikely, the timeline dont fits.

Okay OP, but how on earth do you explain why Shurima and it's Sun Disc was destroyed long before the founding of Demacia?

As long as they aren't ascended. Everyone is ascended nowadays.

Riot has confirmed that Kayles ascension is not from shurima.

I'm not sure if I would follow this line of thought. Kayle's magic seems to be similar to Garen's in that it's just and holy smiting kind of magic, which Demacians may turn a blind eye too.

The thing about Demacia though is that the general mindset of xenophobia and this extreme distaste for magic create the perfect environment for Morgana and Kayle to have extreme ideological differences. If Kayle believes Demacia's values and beliefs, but Morgana does not, and turns to magic to fight her battles, this would create a schism between them. It could also be an avenue for Morgana to change residence to Noxus, where she was residing in the old lore, and also pit the sisters further against each other.

Okay, here's an idea.

They are both Demacian born, and they are chosen by church of Demacia, the same one Lucian and Lux work for, to take part in a ritual, involving a Darkin weapon.

So, they use light magic and force the corruption from the weapon into Morgana, transforming her into a dark corrupted version of the Ascended that was sealed in the weapon. Meanwhile Kayle takes the sword and, like with Kayn, Ascends and gains attributed powers of the, now, purified Ascended sealed within the sword.
