Why is Qiyana getting a prestige skin when she was released 3 months ago?

Prestige Updates

This also means she will have a base skin as well. She’s going to get 2 skins already when there’s so many champs that haven’t gotten skin in years.

I hope there’s going to be skins for champions like Ornn and Xerath alongside the other champ releases cause wow I feel sorry for those mains.

Because Prestige has nothing to do with who deserves a skin or how old the champion is. It literally only has to do with money.

Popular champions that sell skins are who get prestige skins. They invest the extra time and effort into making a shiny version of the money-maker skin in an event because that's what's cost effective.

Why do you think the vast majority of prestige skins are for female champions? Because boobs sell skins.

Fizz got one because he was the star of the dog skins and he summons a giant cute dog. Thresh is going to get one because he's one of the most popular supports with a lot of mains. Same goes for Lee Sin.

They aren't gonna make Prestige Maokai or Prestige Bard because they don't sell skins. Their mains are few and far between.

Money is the only motivator here.

I'd rather her get a skin now than turn into an Ornn or Taliyah problem later. I think its fine, people need to understand that one champion getting a skin does not mean other perhaps less popular Champs won't get a skin. Maybe Ornn or Xerath don't match the intended theme at all, and Qiyana matches it perfectly. Do we really want to rush out skins the players of these Champions won't like? I'd rather them hit it out of the park with the theme and execution.

I agree that more skins for Champs who haven't had one in a while is good, but I think a balance of Champion types and skin themes is good too.

It's because they just thought she fit whatever theme they went with, one of the Worlds themes for hers obviously, and decided that she'd gain one of the prestige versions as part of that Event. Plus they figured she'd be popular (and she sort of is).

It's not like she is the first to gain a skin shortly after release, Ekko was one that did as well (although his was a 750 that they have rarely made anymore of now).

Exactly.

Not mention how Guardian of The Sands Xerath has bugged Sacrophagus form when you CTRL + 1 Taunt.

MF getting one is also super predictable, lol gg riot

I assume it's gonna be the luis vitton skin she gets?

BrokenRayquaza9/23/2019, 6:26:56 PM2 votes

Because she's perfect for kda. That's probably it.

They didn't make her body like that for no reason.

Wild Geese9/24/2019, 4:55:27 PM1 votes

I guess they expected her to be a little more popular than the 100th most picked champ in the game. [sg-syndra]

That's what this whole Prestige system is.

Popularity = Skins

Champion can be for years out without a skin... It does not matter for Riot. Sometimes they are making a 'gift' for community by giving less popular champion a skin (for sale ofc) but they know that this skin is not going to earn enough to cover expenses.
