Champion Induction into the League of Legends - How does it work?

I love lore and story, and I've been really enjoying creating my own small stories and such with many of the champions lately. But this question has been bothering me a lot too so I have to ask:

What does it look like for when a champion officially becomes a part of the League of Legends? Do they meet with any of the big time Summoners? Do they fill out a piece of paper in private?

Any comments would be very helpful! I'm just looking for a rough idea on it. [slayer-jinx-catface]

Well actually the league isn't canon anymore,so there isn't an introduction to anyhting.

However in the past they did go through a judgement, where a group of high ranking summoners would delve into the mind of the champion to determine why the champ wants to join the league and judge if he is suited for it.

If you mean joining the champion roster as part of the Institute of War, that part of lore has been retconned. "League of Legends" does not exist anymore in Runeterra.

They don't, as the League of Legends is no longer canon to the story

Though it's not canon anymore, as people have pointed out, pretty much this exact process is detailed in the Champion Judgements made for several Season 1/2 characters (and Ryze).

I don't think they're on the official website anymore, but they can still be found on the LoLWiki pages for those champs, if you want to get an idea. Personally I'm a fan of Lux's and Vladimir's.
