How does Yordle glamour work exactly?

It comes across as this innate thing because Demacian's in Poppy's story don't react at all to the magical creature walking around Demacia. I thought Mr.Cecil B. Heimerdinger made glamour and it was something they actually had to go out of their way too use as seen in the story with Jinx and Ziggs. That being said how do most Yordles (Poppy included) obtain or use it, or do they just not? Also if Poppy isn't using a glamour WHY CAN SHE JUST WALK AROUND DEMACIA????? I thought Demacia was anti-magic/magical things due to the Rune wars and the ruination so why is no one batting an eye to a yordle roaming about?

Yordles glamour is a passive effect. They're apparently born with it and cant "shut it down". Kled and Tristana used it in their color stories even not wanting to

The man took a step forward and said, “Many thanks, old one, but we are not hungry.”

“Old one?” said Tristana with a playfully indignant grin. “I’m a young slip of a girl!”

The man blinked and she saw what might have been a look of puzzlement cross his face.

“The old crone’s insane,” said the woman, looking sidelong at her, as if not quite sure what to make of what she was seeing. Whatever it was, it certainly wasn’t her true form…

...

“I told you, I’m not old,” said Tristana. “I’m actually pretty young for a Yordle.”

The man’s mouth dropped open in surprise as something of her true nature became apparent to him.

Tristana color story

“You and your pony best be moving on, while you still can.”

I forget sometimes humans don’t see us like we see them. It’s the last straw though.

About Heimerdinger device, I dont think it was a glamour proper, I think it was meant to estabilize the glamour. Glamour doesnt necessarily makes the Yordle look the same for everyone and in a city as Piltover, if they're on a shop, wouldnt people eventually find it very weird how every one who goes to the shop describes the two people working there sligthly different? To use an example, on Poppy color story, I find it possible that at first the girl saw Poppy taller than her father saw, but after her father stated a height, it affected the Glamour and without the girl noticing, she saw Poppy smaller than before. I think Heimerdinger device was made so the glamour could remain on a single form, so people in Piltover wouldnt find the shop suspicious. That isnt necessary to Yordles contanstly traveling around like Poppy, but if you're on a fixated location and create, even if a small one, reputation there, the "normal" glamour may not be able to mask your indentity completly.

Not even Riot really knows but personally it's not a good idea. Why should Yordles be any different from the Vastaya in how the rest of the world views them. Riot keeps trying to Hide Yordles, Hide Bandle City and Hide everything about them instead of making them a major Region.

Glamor makes for awkward storytelling and I think Riot uses it as a cop out to explain away outdated Yordle Models. If they want to fix this what they could do is some event where the veil of glamour is lifted through whatever means and the Yordles lose it.

Even though theres no explicit explanation for people to draw from, there are a few stories now and one or two blurbs on the Universe site that give decent hints towards the nature of Yordle glamour. Not hard to peice it together and get a pretty acurate understanding.

It seems like some people are able to see through the glamour, but it is not common.

The difference between the Innate Glamour and the "HEIMERDINGER’S VISUAL TRANSMOGRIFICATION" (as it says in the Universe page), its that "Yordles do not necessarily control their glamour, and may understand it in a variety of ways. The revered inventor Heimerdinger, for example, crafted unique technological devices for himself and Ziggs, to help them blend into Piltovan society."

In the case of Poppy, the story "The Slayer" explains how Demacians percieve her... even if Poppy is unaware of it.

That story implies that the Slayer that the towns venerates, is Poppy, something that is pointed out by a little girl.

“Look, Da. It’s the slayer! The one from the statue!” declared the wide-eyed girl.

Poppy saw the girl was pointing in her direction. She whirled around to see if the slayer was standing behind her. But no one was there.

Hower his father tells the girl that:

“No, lass,” said the girl’s father. “That one’s no monster slayer. Too small by half.”

The girl and her father quickly lost interest and strolled through the village to partake in the various amusements.

The father doesnt say that she cant be the slayer because she is a yordle, he says that it cant be the slayer because Poppy is too small... So, he is admiting that Poppy looks like the statue of the Slayer, but a smaller version of him.

So, basically Poppy is using her glamour, even if she is unaware of it, and she looks like "the paragon of a (small) Demacian warrior—armored in heavy plate mail, and rippling with sharply defined muscles."
