Before you bring out your pitchforks, this is only my ASSUMPTION. I have no way of knowing wether this is true or not - i just found it interesting as i stumbled upon it by coincidence.

This is "Glitter force". It seems to be the primary inspiration for the look of the (female) star guardian skins.

Now while i realize Lux seems to be at least partly inspired by Sailor Moon, i think our star guardians resemble these characters much more closely.

Star Guardian mostly came from Sailor Moon, the anime that defines the Magical Girl genre.

The skin line is also partly inspired by Puella Magi Madoka Magica, in particular the part where the girls become Magical Girls via signing a contract that the real intent and nature they don't really know much about.

"Glitter Force" is the dub name for one of the series in the Magical Girl franchise called "Pretty Cure", which Madoka took some of its visual cues from. Which in turn the Star Guardians took their visual cues from on top of Sailor Moon.

It's kind of a blender of references at this point.

Star Guardians are based off of the Magical Girl Anime genre in general. Sailor Moon is one example from that genre, I would guess this Glitter Force is another example.

idk how much anime you watch, and especially magical girl anime, but ehhh star guardians are really just stereotypes of that genre. https://imgur.com/a/f4YcKLJ they all have the same color schemes
