I appreciate the VFX changes for Caitlyn and Blitzcrank, but......

I am so glad that Caitlyn is going to stop shooting cogwheels and the new lightning effects on Blitzcrank look really nice.

But this is concerning me a bit.... I thought that Caitlyn and Blitzcrank are top candidates for the Ezreal treatment, since their visuals are absolutely outdated and especially Caitlyns design does not fit into the modern lore of League of Legends.

Do these changes influence this? Does this mean these 2 won't get updated anytime soon or is this just something to bridge some time, but they still will get updated soon? Especially since Blitzcrank also got a minor update to his kit, I am really worried about this....

Blitzcrank is in an EXTREME need of a VU, but Caitlyn? I think she still looks good

No, they've stated with the past VFX updates that they do not influence the work of the actual VGU/VU teams. Let's not forget Mundo is a Tier 1 VGU candidate still, and his VFX got updated too.

In terms of Blitz, I don't think he's as high of a VU candidate as you think. He's a robot, and as such, his visuals are naturally geometric and blocky - so he doesn't age as quickly as humanoids with hair and such. So I don't think Blitzcrank was a candidate for the near future to begin with.

Blitzcrank Jax Kennen JarvanIV Veigar Caitlyn MonkeyKing are all candidates for VgUs and yet all just got updated effects recently. DrMundo is full VGU candidate yet was done as is Chogath all I can say is stay patient. Meddler believes is most likely as next VgU and I hope he is right because of these major disconnections with his lore and dialogue.
