Aurelion Sol is massive but not as massive as you think.

Many people seem to think he is galaxy sized, but he isn't. If you want a sense of scale, watch his teaser again. You get to see his star whiz past a spear. A targonian spear, which Pantheon wields. Pantheon's own spear is roughly 1.5 times his own height.

And the baby star is roughly double that.

When it reaches Asol's hand it is roughly one third it's size, something his ingame models support.

His hands are, by his model, 1/10 as long as his body from belly to head top when he floats showing his chest.

This means that Asol when sitting idle, is roughly 90 times(thats 1.5 for the spear, times 2 for the star, times 3 for the hand, times 10 for the body) Pantheon's own height. Let's say Pantheon is roughly... six feet. That put's Aurelion Sol at about 540 feet tall in am idle position.

EDIT sorry thanks to HTC VIVE i realized i missed that it expands at the end. It increases in diameter by about about 9-11 times.

So he's actually like 5400 Feet from lower belly to tip of head. Over a full mile.

Is that massive? Fuck yeah. Is it as big as people seem to think? Fuck no.

And if you want his full length, from the same point he folds in half his tail adds like .3-.4 so like 2.4 times that.

12960 feet or 2.45 miles.

I checked his splash art. Aurelion Sol, or at least his upper body, appears to be around 615 pixels tall. One of the two people in his splash art is roughly 8 pixels tall.

615/8 = 76.875.

Given that this is just his upper body (most of him), this roughly corresponds with your math.

So, looks good to me.

If I remember correctly Aurelion Sol can adjust his size.

But hey, that's just a theory A GAME THEORY. Thanks for watching.

This is flat out wrong though.

Just going by the teaser "The Star Forger Returns" it's hard to tell just how big he really is, but when the tiny baby star that whizzes past the screen reaches his hand it's a tiny dot on his body that's covered in other tiny dots. The big-boy star he holds in his hand before crushing it is just another MUCH LARGER star that he formed right there as he opened his hand.

You don't really get a chance to compare the tiny baby star to anything either. I watched the trailer over and over again and you never see it and any spear in the same shot, at best you see it whiz behind a lit brazier on a rocky peak with a larger rock wall behind the star and only for a very brief moment does it get close to the brazier on the peak, and when it does you can see it's actually pretty massive. I've prepared a couple images to help demonstrate just how big this baby star actually is.

Now it's hard to really tell exactly how big it is just comparing it to the brazier and the rocky peak, but considering neither of those things tend to be particularly small it's safe to assume that the star is several times the size of a regular human. After a very cool close-up we see the baby star fly off back into the sky where it is then revealed to be just one of many other baby stars being swirled into A.Sol's hand to form a MUCH larger bigboy star, pictured below.

Galaxy sized? Still probably not. But he certainly isn't as tiny as the Eiffel Tower replica.

Not to mention the depiction of his size is just flat out inconsistent between teasers, splash arts, and in-game. I think it's safer to assume he can just adjust his size as other's suggest. Sure it's not explicitly stated that he can do this but he's a big magic dragon who can make entire stars, altering his own size doesn't seem like much of a stretch to me.

I've never understood why Riot decided to make Aurelion so big in the lore. There's just no need for it, and it only creates huge problems. Firstly, it's ridiculously different to his in-game size, and makes the idea of him fitting in Summoner's Rift completely implausible. Secondly, it makes his interactions with other characters in the lore hard to imagine without insane mental gymnastics.

In my view, he should be around the size of a freight truck. His power level should also be scaled down in line with this, so that he's a little more relatable, and the idea of him fighting the other champions doesn't seem utterly ridiculous. Perhaps instead of being a godlike being, present at the creation of the universe, he's just a member of an ancient and powerful alien species. And perhaps instead of creating stars he simply creates the seeds of stars, glowing embers enchanted with gravitational magic that cause them to draw in matter from the space around them over thousands of years, until they're big enough to undergo fusion.

Come on Riot, this is not hard; if you want people to take your uber-characters seriously, tone them down so they're not insanely omnipotent, and they have at least some correspondence with their in-game versions.
