I don't think riot should try to "fix" the Definitely Not Frost Blade skin

The problem wasn't the skin itself. It was a fine skin. The problem is this was never going to be Frost Blade as it was never intended to be; the guy who made it admitted he wanted to go in a different direction*. The guy who approved it went the the WotC school of bent cards, terrible $10 packs, and no effs given. A recolor isn't going to make it work. It's so far off of expectations that it can't really be fixed to be a frostblade skin.

It's impossible to fix the skin as the base model is incompatible with the original theme.

What riot is doing is now entirely pointless. The pooch has been screwed, the garbage is on fire, you've just stepped off of the short pier, and your cousin just texted to let you know you've got a new son and she's expecting either a ring on her finger or child support. To put it simply, you've got past the point of no return. Fixing Definitely Not Frost Blade is a fools errand right now.

I suggest riot call the skin something else. You can sell it as a skin under a different name and then work on a brand new frost blade that actually reminds people of the original. Until a proper Frostblade skin can be created from scratch, just focus on getting the current one right. Why do I say this? Because under a different name, the skin will work. People will buy it as something else. We were expecting a meat lovers pizza and riot give us the lord of pineapple pizza. Instead of dying the pineapple to look more meat-like you should just admit this is a snafu, sell it as pineapple pizza to those who want pineapple, and get to work on the meat lovers so the people who bought the original get what they paid for.

You owe the fans who bought the original that much and going this route will make everyone happy in the long run and help cover your expenses of making a proper frostbutt skin. You can make the customers happy even though it'll take a few extra months and you'll get an unexpected boost of income to help pay for it. That sounds very fair to me.

I agree completely! Unfortunately, I made a similar post just prior to yours, and it looks like we were both down voted so far. =S

I think they COULD salvage the one with a few major tweaks, its not bad quality as I stated in my post here:

The problem is that it just frankly ISN'T Frostblade. However, I think salvaging is a waste of time and money already spent. It works fine as a skin for people that like this aesthetic, but this is suppose to be Frostblade Irelia not some other concept. It's so incredibly identical in aesthetic to Winter Wonder skins... Karma especially. Just revert the changes on this one and make the original composition exquisite and rename it to fit into the Winter Wonder Skin Line. Then create something that actually represents Frostblade as it was originally designed.

It boils down to: the original design aesthetic is what players paid for, therefore that is what they deserve in my opinion. I understand the model has changed, and it wont be identical, no one expects that, BUT it could at least have SOME element of throwback and relation to the original concept. This version has nothing. New colors, completely different wardrobe style, no jagged blades, nothing.

If they don't want to do that, I'd even be happy with an RP refund so I can purchase the skin I like the best. It's not like they lost money since what was spent is still tide up in RP anyways, but honestly what I would just prefer that when they VGU'd champs that made sure the new models embodied the originals. It seems like they did a great job doing that on all of them except Frostblade, in my opinion, which is most disappointing because it happens to be the one I paid for. =(
