Is it possible were getting some Brand lore?

So this 'World Rune Ward' has been floating on PBE for a while with no context whatsoever. No details on how to obtain it, what it's for, nothing. The last time we had something like this was for the Annie summoner icons, which in turn ended up being for her lore update. So can it be possible that this ward is meant to represent ANOTHER upcoming, yet smaller lore update?

Hear me out; we had a bit of a lore-dump a few months ago that updated everybody's in-client bios to be more 'modernised,' changing some of them for upcoming reworks, such as Varus, Irelia and Swain's.

Now some other bios have changed drastically as well. Jax is now an Icathian warrior seeking fighters to prove themselves worthy to fight the Void. Zilean was an Icathian mage who is seeking time-magic to reverse time and change Icathia's fate. Shaco is now a puppet made by a lonely prince who went crazy. And Brand;

"Once a tribesman of the icy Freljord named Kegan Rodhe, the creature known as Brand is a lesson in the temptation of greater power. Seeking one of the legendary World Runes, Kegan betrayed his companions and seized it for himself—and, in an instant, the man was no more. His soul burned away, his body a vessel of living flame, Brand now roams Valoran in search of other Runes, swearing revenge for wrongs he could never possibly have suffered in a dozen mortal lifetimes."

Interestingly enough, not only is this the ONLY CHARACTER THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE LEAGUE OF LEGENDS ROSTER to have some connection to the World Runes other than Ryze, but this is a completely new aspect of Brand that was definetly not a part of his old lore (iirc, some people even theorized he was a Darkin a long time ago!). Along with that, Brand has been mentioned in some other Lore already, as he was the fire spirit that Xerath freed in order to distract Nasus and Renekton from guarding Azir, so I'm even more curious on how THAT ties into this possible new lore. So what do you all think? Is this a possible Brand lore update? Or just a one-shot Ward skin that people will forget?
