Does anyone else feel like Gatekeeper Galio is a bit lacking?

#PLEASE READ FIRST BEFORE DOWNVOTING

First here are the 4 basics that come to me when I hear about a legendary skin:

  • Completely new look of a champion, possibly for fun looks or being more serious
  • New animations (walking, attacking, recalls, etc)
  • New voice over/ lines (jokes, taunts, laugh, etc.)
  • New particle effects

So why am I bringing this up? Well looking at the new Gatekeeper Galio skin, it's got me pretty excited (so much that I plan on getting it soon) but looking over it, he uses the exact same animations for joke, taunt, dance, laugh, nearly every animation is the same as his base and lower priced skins. The only new animations for this skin are his recall, fountain speed boost, and death animation. Now before anyone jumps to conclusions, I'M NOT SAYING THIS IS A BAD SKIN. Hell, this is probably one of the best skins, visually and vocally, that I've seen come out (or remade i guess).

But looking back on other legendary skins, it just doesn't feel completely like legendary price if we only get a few new animations to it. Look at a more recent legendary like PROJECT Ashe. She didn't just get a new voice over and new recall, she got a new dance, new animations for movement, attacking, abilities, everything I look for in a legendary. Same can go for Battlecast Cho'Gath, PROJECT Yi, Final Boss Veigar, even an older skin like Bloodlord Vlad has new animations than the old. Galio on the other hand, at least to me, feels more like Demonblade Tryndamere: there's a new voice over, a few new animations, and a new look but that's about it. If you compare these skins to their base or any other skin and only judge them based on their animation, they would feel very similar if not for a few differences here and there.

Again, I'm not saying this is a bad skin, it's gorgeous visually, but in terms of animation I just feel like it's lacking and thus doesn't fully commit to a legendary price, especially since this is the first Legendary skin to be reworked like this now that I think about it. Hell, if it didn't have the complete new voice over I'd have thought it would be more of a 1350 skin. But that's just what I think.

His Q, R and W actually have unique animations

For his Q, his wings actually detach and turn into the Q projectiles. For his W he floats off the ground and does a sweet pose while charging the taunt His R is also new

He also has a unique walk animation

The thing is that the old gatekeeper didn't have new animations for everything and while they improved it a bit, they didn't bring it up to the current standard for legendaries. If the old gatekeeper had been on par with other legendaries already, then it would have likely remained that way,but since it wasn't on par to begin with, they kept it that way.

Its mostly a matter of resource management,if they did a completely new set of animations for the skin, then the galio update would have likely come out in april or may instead and they'd rather focus on the next update than bringing the gatekeeper skin to the current standards. Also he does have a new animations on almost all of his abilities(his W is completely new,his Q has his wings turning into the gusts of wind, his E has a new pose for the jump and the first part of his ult also has new animations).

Actually it's funny you mention that because the first skin I used was the GateKeeper and well I bought the Commando and think anything of it and I was actually playing it because my kid didn't like it and come to find out I was moving a lot cleaner and I would say I'm definitely Swift over the gatekeeper skin I do see a difference and noticed the timing is far is the way he moves
