Dragon Visual Discrepancy?

I was wondering for a long time a thing that I realized ever since the update from the single dragon type to the different elemental drakes.

On the background of the Summoner's Rift at Top Lane (Top Left of map, behind said lane), early on the game, you can see the old dragon flying about and approaching Summoner's Rift. I think this was implemented ever since new Summoner's rift to indicate that the dragon is nearing it's landing place.

However, ever since the new elementals were added, we can still see the same old dragon flying into summoner's rift. I'm not sure if this dragon is only for the first dragon spawn or shows up top lane before every dragon spawn. If it is the second instance, I find if weird that the dragon sprite isn't one of the elements or the Elder Dragon, depending on the dragon shortly spawning at the pit.

Technically, the dragon doesn't evolve into an elemental mid-air, no?

This may be a forgotten visual effect, but I kept thinking about it. Sometimes, I feel like riot decided to keep it there as a nod to the old version of the dragon (and also saying that those dragons still exist lore-wise)

Now, I have an idea. I know its nitpicking at that point, but what would be nice is that the dragon from the background would come closer and closer to the rift, then as soon as it's very close to spawning at the pit, you can see the dragon's shadow pass from the tip of top lane through baron river, mid and towards the dragon pit. Kind of like how Dragon Slayer Pantheon's ult shadow works, but with the form of either the elementals, or the bigger form of the elder dragon.

It would be a very nice add-on that would add to the environment of SR.

Let my brother fly wherever he wants it. Just because YOU MURDER in game others dragons, it doesnt mean that all the dragons that live there must go down to the rift just to be killed.
