I think people severely underestimate the mortal champions.

Obviously Nasus could probably wither the flesh from most of them, and Xerath could blast them with arcane magics into powder, and none of them could put up a fight against Aurelion Sol. Against other "immortal" champions, though, I think people underestimate the mortals. Xin was slated to fight 300 men in the fleshpits. Each won fight means more fighters added. They didn't make him fight 20 men and then jump to 300 to see him die. He can handle as many men as can stand within killing range. He performs as well as a lower-case g god when weapons are in play. Aatrox may be a god of war, winning every battle he fights in, but Darius also wins every battle he is in. Darius' stalemate vs. the Winter's Claw, who fought Olaf to a standstill, who killed a giant monster in a frenzy. All of these champions are inhumane on the battlefield. Kayne has withstood the corrupting power of a Darkin through powerful will. As a child, he killed many grown men. 60% more mass as an adult, add in some actual training and OP shadow powers, and why couldn't he escape a 1v1 with Renekton alive? Do I think Talon or Twisted Fate could kill Cho'Gath or Azir? Obviously not. But I think in a battle against "gods," as long as there is no continent destroying magic in play, they could handle themselves better than a lot of people think they could.

I mean... That's what champions are. They are the bests of the bests. They are the elite of Runeterra. Could Xin win against Syndra? No. But that's not what he is meant to do, fight against such a powerful champion. Could Syndra win against Xerath? She may be able to hurt him, but would ultimately lose. But she's probably not destined to fight him. My point is, champions are the best in their domains, yes. Just because some champions are stronger than others doesn't mean these champions are worthless, they are just in a different league (pun unintended). It doesn't make them bad. No champion should be underestimated because there are stronger individuals out there. Mainly because the "mortal champions" (as you call them) are very unlikely to fight "godlike champions", so there is no need to compare them.

Actually going by Xin zhao´s lore he might just have won a fight against 250 dudes before he was setup to face 300, we dont know as it was never specified on how many opponents the increase was.

And Olaf was actually massacring the winters claw, it was Sejuani who apparently gave him such a frigid stare that his berserk just outright cancelled itself while she was talking.

Darius? Darius took a trained legion of soldiers to engage a bunch of barbarian raiders and got stuck in a stalemate, its actually ridiculous but he does have the excuse of lacking experience in wintery mountain terrain and fighting against locals with plenty of it, even if they are barbarians.

The Darkin should be weakened in their weapon forms, only time they are capable of unleashing more power is when they manage to control a host but unless the host is sufficiently powerful then the body will just break down when the darkin moves around, this is the problem Aatrox is having, the Darkin also seem to "learn" the skills of their host and become able to use them or their own skills if they wish.

Kayn is currenly in the middle of his battle with Rhaast but going by the "in game" then if he wins we can assume he just absorbs a large portion of Rhaasts powers to enhance what he already has.

"Edit"

However when it comes to the "gods vs men" thing......it seriously depend on which manner of godly/demonic/spiritual being we put in as the opponent, i mean Darius could probably beat maoaki in a fight but it would probably be impossible to beat Sion.

Xayah and Rakan are like trained agents with a touch of magic who could probably stomp even elite operatives, but Ahri insta-killed an entire village on accident because she got "hungry".

The scale of power is very very different here.

Couldnt Caitlyn headshot most of the mortals from a mile away, i don't know much about the lore but it's always interesting seeing firearms in a fantasy setting while people still use swords, and before you go hurr durr they have magical armor made of flaberonium, if you can imagine a fantasy sword and armor then you could also imagine a fantasy 70. cal sniper made out of that same material while shooting magical exploding bullets made out of that material, or even worse a damn big cannon doing the same thing from 3 miles away.

Is there any lore regarding the technology of Runeterra, i mean you have miniguns, rockelaunchers, missles, AI sentry turrets, hell even blitzcrank who is a robot, it seems that people always overlook these things in favor of some dude with a pointy stick.

Also magic and technology are pretty interchangeable in fantasy, you can see it with some skins as well, Battle Cast Vel Koz, Omega Squad Veigar, VIktor in general etc. so im interested to know how does that technology fit into a world of swords and magic

Draven seems like the only underwhelming one to be honest. He's more about show, killing people as an executioner (I assume they don't have weapons and they're all Ionian prisoners who just run while he chucks axes)
