I need help Transitioning my brain to LoL's Graphics after years of playing HoN and DOTA 2

Immediately in the video I provided above, what do you notice? the Monkey King Skin the actual ingame Skin model looks identical to his Splash Art, and THAT seems to be my biggest problem with transitioning to LoL's graphics is that the ingame skins do not look like the splash art something I have grown accustomed to in HoN in recent times.

BUT I WILL SAY THIS, the Dawnbringer Skin in LoL along with Pulsefire Caitlyn looks incredibly good and a lot closer to their splash art than other skins.

I have provided the latest video released by Heroes of Newerth for their skins. This is a game I played about 8000 hours of but I have decided to leave and switch over to LoL because of Jhin and the Caitlyn Pulsefire skin which enticed me to start playing LoL. Believe it or not the first skin I saw was the Pulsefire skin and then I immediately started searching for more info about LoL, it lead to Jhin's Ulti which I found incredibly impressive its better than anything I have ever seen in anyother MOBA game.

However I am still having a hard time transitioning to LoL because I got spoiled by HoN and DOTA 2 graphics. Those 2 games have really good spell effects and very detailed 3D models. Now LoL seems to be a mixed bag for me on one hand new skins look good but only the 1850 RP skins, there seems to be a significant difference in quality from $15 skins and $10 skins.

Then there is the other part, old skins doesn't look anything like their splash art, newer skins look a lot closer to the splash but not quite there yet. In HoN this issue was solved about 2 years ago, they have started to significantly upgrade the quality of the skins to match the splash art. The details the geometry, textures etc of the skins are done in a fashion similar to what you would find in a AAA game.

If we were to compare this to LoL what are the significant differences? some people are telling me they do not see a difference however from what I am seeing the effects from the spells in HoN looks significantly better. And there is an incredible amount of details in the actual skin textures, however I am thinking that because HoN uses a realistic artstyle it is probably this that ends up making it look so much more detailed? as LoL is more like a painting type of cartoon artstyle? but the that wouldn't explain the higher hardware requirements of HoN and DOTA 2, as we know higher hardware requirements almost always means better graphics unless its a case of bad optimization. But even then, DOTA 2 and HoN runs on integrated graphics just fine even on wallmart budget PC. So this is not to say that because DOTA 2 and HoN has higher requirements that somehow people can't run it, even the cheapest PC will run any of these games.

Now about Splash Art, in HoN the character ingame skin looks very very similar to the splash art, atleast the newer skins that is within the past 2 years and my brain has gotten accustomed to this.

In LoL the skins usually look nothing like the splash art, but with the new dawnbringer and nightbringer skins I noticed they look a lot more like the splash art. And to be fair the old HoN skins look nothing like their splash art either.

I guess the problem I have is that the last year or 2, because HoN decided to go for AAA look it has conditioned my brain in such a way that to me LoL looks bad. Yes I have it on max settings my PC is a GTX 1070 and a core i7. But guys I just dunno, on one hand the Night Bringer skin looks so good, the Caitlyn Pulsefire looks so good even though I was a disappointed her gun lighting effects look nothing like the splash art. I am talking about the blue core in the middle of the gun it looks so much better in the splash art.

Now Project Ashe looks REALLLLLY GOOD!!! The bright blue glow and the details in the skin it literally looks like something I would expect from HoN and that is strange given I just said the graphics isn't as good

BUT I think riot is getting there? what do you guys think? are the skin quality and special effects put into them likely to increase next year?

OR could it be a case that I am not understanding the Artstyle? and I need time to adjust to the Artstyle?

If LoL's Skin Visuals both textures, geometry and particle effects are going to continue to improve then I can live with that. But it has certainly been a rough transition for me.

How many times will you make this crappy shitpost about the same thing, League of Legends graphics will never age with the anime-cartoon direction it took now (similar to WoW's) while both hon and dota will look shit in a few years, hon already looks outdated.

What do you hope to accomplish with these posts?

so thinking about it I guess what I am asking is some sort of verification that riot will continue to increase the Skin quality to look more like its splash art in the coming months or years. Because I believe that seems to be the source of my problems when it comes to accepting the visual quality of Skins in LoL. It does appear that they are upping the visual quality of the skins to make it look like the splash art though, I wonder if Riot has made any statements or commitments on this issue?
